The lesson of the Wizard of Oz, the post-modernists, and of Papa Hemingway in "A Clean, Well-Lighted Room"

Interesting how we talk about being 'in' or 'on' or 'at' a website when those metaphors don't really apply.

"See" takes me "out" to another poem.

Profound image of the origami folds. the tearing impies impatience. Language of folds--yes I like that. In a way every part of the human body is about folds both micro and macro. It is also about boundaries which is sum and substance of origami.

For some reason I am reminded of the idea of embodied cognition. I love how George Lakoff treats this in his book Metaphors We Live By. Highly fucking recommended.

Thinking about learners. I can see this as a brainstorming tool in simpler form. Get students to put their topic in the center and then do a presentation using bubbl.us as their tool. THEN go about the business of writing THEN do a mashup of the two.

Love the vids and your voice along with it to humanize the coldness of hyperspace.

How would Tom Waits re-write this?

I have been here before. I did not listen to your voice the first time. So it is different. You see that we are impatient with poetry. This tool slow me down. I am constantly having to slow my students down, to code switch to eternity time/no time. This they cannot do for even thirty second which is ironic because most of them would probably call themselves good Christians. If so, shouldn't they already be in touch with eternity?

I am returning from parallel worlds because I couldn't go to any other worlds from where I was. I have not been to nothing so there I go.

Back again from nothing this time. Appropriate that I could not leave a sticky note in Nothing. Meteor image was evocative. But of course the trail of glory from a burning meteor is really something isn't it?

I am forced togo elsewhere to write my little notes. Kind of appropriate that for whatever reason I can not post a free standing sticky note here. Love the meteor as evidence of nothing. Similar to the wake from a ship and the smoke from a fire. Not really nothing is it?

One place to see the visualization of Kevin's hyperlink poem. The picture gives us the impression that everything leads back to Kevin, but I don't think so. I am of the reader response school of comp--Once the creature is released, then it is free to be whatever it might become. A snail can't become a fox, but it can become a very interesting snail. Not that you are a fox Kevin.
