No one can deny the fact that roofing materials have seen to evolve over the course of time. There was a time when clay tiles were popular in all parts of the world and they have been seen to be manufactured in 20th century. Shingles were used in earlier part of the 20th century with fiberglass and asphalt being the most commonly used. Even the wood was considered to be a significant part of the earliest shingles. All these were used to ensure that shingles stick around very well.

The customer had signs of damp on the chimney breast in the attic. After inspecting the chimney it was visible that the stonework had become porous. To rectify this we used a chimney cream called storm dry. This is far better than any other water proofer on the market. It's absorbed by the stone and lasts for 25 years! We also added a ventilation cowl to the chimney pot to stop down draft and water going down the chimney pot.

Repairs were carried out to the house roof. The lead flashings were sealed with a fibre glass membrane to seal the tears in the lead. The damaged slates were taken out and replaced and the gutters were cleaned out.

All new gutters and downpipes replaced in Shelley. The old gutters had become weathered and started to leak at the joints. The old gutters and down pipes were replaced with brown square section upvc gutters and downpipes.
