* Lawrence Royal & Cabinet Collections The Lawrence Collection consists of 40,000 glass plate negatives from 1870-1914. The images were produced commercially and capture topographical scenes of that period throughout Ireland. The entire Lawrence Royal collection (10,784 plates) and part of the Lawrence Cabinet collection (2,040 plates) are available here to view online. * Poole Whole Plate Collection The Poole collection comprises 65,000 glass plate negatives and was created by the family firm of A.H. Poole in Waterford between 1884-1954. The majority of images in the collection are studio portraits but the Poole Whole Plate subset which consists of 5,119 images, reflects the diversity of the collection with studio portraits, social and political events and also images of architecture and industry in the south east of Ireland. * Independent H Collection The Independent Newspaper collection of some 300,000 images, is made up of glass plates, plastic negatives and a small number of prints. The Independent H collection is a subset of the collection and contains 3,250 glass plates negatives dating from 1912-1936. It provides a record of many aspects of 20th century Irish life, and is particularly strong in the coverage of politics and sport in Ireland.

A vast and unorganised collection of secondary and primary source sites on all things Mongol. Amazing that there are so many sources left seeings the Mongols tended to burn any sources they came across. Along with the people who might have written them, come to think of it. Maybe that's why their PR is so bad?

Has several unrelated sections containing primary sources and images, including historical images of Philadelphia, images of medieval manuscripts (no translations though) and some images of art. Might grow over time.

National Archives tool - Docs Teach offers seven free tools that teachers can use to create interactive learning activities based on primary source documents and images. The approximately 1,275 images in this collection have been selected from a wide range of sources, most of them dating from the period of slavery. This collection is envisioned as a tool and a resource that can be used by teachers, researchers, students, and the general public - in brief, anyone interested in the experiences of Africans who were enslaved and transported to the Americas and the lives of their descendants in the slave societies of the New World.

Seems to be more of a guide to primary source research rather than a source site itself.

These are a set of out-of-print guides made by the NYC Board of Education in 1993-1994. They are full of primary sources, short text selections and activities which many teachers have found very useful. Although designed for 7th and 8th grade they can be modified for high school and elementary school. Many teachers have used these over the last 17 years to help them develop their lessons. They are large files so they will take a few minutes to open. Note that both sets follow the same format but the 8th grade guides were done with a modern text style and therefore "looks" much better.

Excellent collection of websites which have been reviewed by subject specialists for use in research. A bit like what we do! LOL (as my students say...).

An excellent reference point for teachers and students of History. The resources and sources are organised around grade levels (based on the Massachusetts curriculum) and contain primary sources as well as historical descriptions. Worth joining up!
