Gloria, I figure it is always useful to post some major websites from time to time since they occasionally get overlooked.

A much more focused group on American veterans, and much more activist with an official legislative agenda available on their website. They were set up to counter some of the weight that WWII and Vietnam era veterans still have in the American Legion and VFW.

Probably the second most influential veterans' organization in the United States, they have a more activist public role than does the American Legion.

One of the largest and oldest American veterans' organizations, they help to keep issues for veterans in the mind of the public.

The overall agency behind the US military, both during active service and after active service. Perhaps one the largest active and powerful government agencies.

This is where I pulled the topic for the final paper - A good site to understand what federal policy issues interest the group responsible for handing out .edu domains.
