THE LEGAL TENDER (INSCRIBED NOTES) ACT, 1964.ACT NO. 28 OF 1964.[30th September, 1964.]
. Repeal and savings. (1) The Legal Tender (Inscribed Notes)Ordinance, 1942 (Ord. 59 of 1942), is hereby repealed.(2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or any action taken under the said Ordinance, shall be deemed to have been done or taken under this Act as If this Act were in force on the day on which such thing was done or such action was taken.

6. Form and business in which banking companies may engage
(1) In addition to the business of banking, a banking company may engage in any one or more of the following forms of business, namely,-
3. Establishment of Tribunal
(1) The Central Government shall, by notification, establish one or more Tribunals, to be known as the Debts Recovery Tribunal, to exercise the jurisdiction, powers and authority conferred on such Tribunal by or under this Act.
The Central Government may, by notification, set up or cause to be set up from such date as it may specify in such notification, a registry to be known as the Central Registry with its own seal for the purposes of registration of transaction of securitisation and reconstruction of financial assets and creation of security interest under this Act.
