Medical Aesthetics Market Continues to Grow Owing to the Rising Demand for Surgical Pro... - 0 views

  •
Medical aesthetics is a fairly broad field that covers several different, often overlapping sub-specialties. These include endocrinology, gynecology, pathology, radiology, gastroenterology, health care, obstetrics/maternity, orthopedics, pediatrics, physiology, psychology, statistics, and pharmacology. The field of medical aesthetics is increasingly expanding due to increasing numbers of people who have an interest in looking better and feeling better about their appearance. This interest has resulted in an expansion of the field into several subspecialties, which are described below. One of the top five surgical aesthetic procedures is liposuction. Liposuction is a procedure used to remove pockets of fat from different parts of the body to improve facial features, such as an extra small smile, sagging skin around the eyes or lips, or fat deposits in the neck or waist. Other liposuction procedures include using liposuction to change the size and shape of tattoos, removing skin tags, wart formation on the face, flattening abdominal fat, reshaping the breasts after pregnancy, removing wrinkles, and improving the skin texture around the mouth, chin, and neck. Other surgical aesthetic procedures include laser lipolysis, adjustable gastric banding, lipoplasty, blepharoplasty, neck lift, chin and jowl reduction, laser facial resurfacing, and Botox injections. The main factor influencing the medical aesthetics market is the growing surgical procedures worldwide for advanced personal appearance. For instance, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, around 130,000 facelifts are performed in the U.S. and the numbers are increasing annually. According to Cosmetic Surgery Solicitors, the U.S. and Brazil accounted for more than 28.4% of cosmetic producers in the world in 2018. The top five surgical procedures that are done across the globe are ear surgery, fat grafting, rhinoplasty, gyne

Psychology and Skin Part one - 0 views

Overview: The connection between the Body, its physiology and particularly biochemistry, have been linked to the mind with particular emphasis upon emotions and stress. This can be easily substantiated in common everyday situations. Anyone who has observed a facial red flush triggered by some sort of embarrassment can attest to the foregoing connection. The emotions and stress play a key role in many if not all diseases and disorders: due to the vastness of the subject, we will focus on the application of the mind/body connection(MBC) to skin. This serves as an introduction to the field of psych dermatology which, although still in its infancy in the USA, is expanding as evidence with regard to the psychological component related to the etiology of skin diseases continues to grow. Concurrently, the field of Alternative techniques IN mind/body treatments continue to grow in leaps and bounds providing effective methods for integration with conventional cosmetic and dermaceutical treatment. This provides a dual complimentary pathway both for prevention and treatment of any/most skin disorders. Expanding on this model, we have already shown how the mind influences the body as per the above example. This general proposition can be extended to include specific skin disorders such as acne rosacea psoriasis eczema and atopic dermatitis to name a few. We will concentrate on Acne for the sake of this discussion. First, focusing on the B component of the BMC model, the primary lesion associated with acne is the formation microcomodones, which are small enough to proceed undetected until larger comodones appear later in the cycle. The latter cycle is initiated by peroxidation of squalene and unsaturated fatty acids present in human sebum. This leads to the foregoing lesions and pro- inflammatory mediators such as cytokines and interleukins followed by an increase of p.acnes on the epithelial cell wall together with increased film formation of the p.acnes is the same area This

Facial rejuvenation is essentially a cosmetic procedure (or series of cosmetic procedures), that aims to improve a facial appearance to its youthful appearance. Facial rejuvenation can also be done through non-surgical means and address localized facial problems like hyperpigmentation, wrinkles, scars, and facial laxity. Facial rejuvenation involves treating aging signs like wrinkles, age spots, fine lines, and sagging skin. It also involves treating milder forms of facial aging like sun damage, stress, medications, and environmental factors. Some of the popular treatments include fillers, injections, Botox, chemical peels, dermabrasion, laser resurfacing, and the age spot eliminating cream. One of the most effective ways of reducing wrinkles is through the application of creams, lotions, and other applications containing various ingredients. Top of the line anti-wrinkle face cream contains various active ingredients like vitamins, minerals, collagen, antioxidants, proteins, flavones, hyaluronic acid, and macadamia oil. Breast Implants; a Prosthesis Used to Change the Size, Shape, and Contour the Breasts - 0 views

  •
Breast implants are classified as class III higher risk medical devices used to augment the size of the breasts, either for reconstruction purposes or cosmetic applications. There are two types of breast implants, such as saline breast implants and silicone breast implants. Both implants are considered safe for breast reconstruction and breast augmentation. However, research on the safety and effectiveness of the implant is ongoing. Silicone implants tend to feel more like natural breast tissue than saline alternatives. With the increasing prevalence of breast cancer, the demand for breast implants is also increasing. The difference between breast implants and breast augmentation is quite simple; breast implants are synthetic parts that are surgically inserted to support the growth process, whereas breast augmentation is a category of procedures that enlarge the breast size. Today's breast implants, on average, are designed to last more than a decade. In many cases, breast implants can remain in good shape for 20 years or more. A breast implant is a postoperative prosthetic designed to change the physical appearance, size, and shape of the breasts. In reconstructive plastic surgery, breast implants are placed into one or both breasts to restore a natural appearance to the wearer. High Prevalence of Primary Biliary Cholangitis and Approval and Launch of New Drugs to ... - 0 views

  •
Primary biliary cholangitis, also known as primary biliary cirrhosis, is an autoimmune disease of the liver. The auto-immune disorder can have a number of symptoms such as abdominal pain, fever, nausea, vomiting, abdominal bloating, diarrhea, liver tenderness or enlargement, jaundice, and ascites. In most of these symptoms, the patient may be experiencing inflammation at an early stage of the illness, although in some cases, symptoms do not appear until the disease has advanced to a more serious state. A definitive diagnosis can only be made by performing blood tests and ultrasound studies in order to determine the progression of the illness and its effects on the body. At an early stage, most patients who experience mild to moderate symptoms of primary biliary cholangitis exhibit no symptoms, whereas in some cases, symptoms manifest very quickly and rapidly worsen. In both conditions, the majority of affected individuals undergo treatment that is aimed at relieving pain and treating any complications that might occur. High prevalence of primary biliary cholangitis is expected to propel growth of the primary biliary cirrhosis drugs market. For instance, according to the study, 'Epidemiology and clinical course of primary biliary cholangitis in the Asia-Pacific region: a systematic review and meta-analysis', published in Hepatology International in September 2019, the overall prevalence of primary biliary cholangitis was 118.75 cases per million in the Asia Pacific region, with the high, medium and low prevalence being in Japan and China (191.18 cases per million), New Zealand (99.16 cases per million) and South Korea and Australia (39.09 cases per million), respectively. A Simple Test That Detects Early Symptoms Helpful In Respiratory Syncytial Virus Diagno... - 0 views

  •
Respiratory syncytial (sin-SISH-uhl) virus, or RSV, is a common respiratory virus that usually causes mild, cold-like symptoms. In the U.S., RSV infections generally occur during fall, winter, and spring. Treatment for respiratory syncytial virus usually involves self-care steps to help make your child relaxed (supportive care) along with medication, if needed (acute care). But if severe symptoms appear, hospital treatment may also be necessary. Symptoms of the virus include, runny nose and cough, difficulty breathing, wheezing, fever, sore throat, headache, swelling of face and lips, and red spots on the mouth and tongue. Left untreated, your child's condition may develop into complicated pneumonia, acute congestive heart failure or sudden infant death. Respiratory syncytial virus diagnostics may include, a simple test that can detect early symptoms, so you can provide the appropriate treatment as soon as possible. If you have any symptoms of upper respiratory infection or strep throat, you should see your doctor. The doctor will test your upper respiratory infection or strep throat for viruses such as parainfluenza, rhizopenia and streptococcus. In some cases, your doctor will also order laboratory tests in order to get an accurate diagnosis. Osseointegration Implants Are Proving to be Breakthrough Innovation for People Who Requ... - 0 views

  •
Osseointegration Implants are basically artificial implants that can be made of a plastic material that is designed to prevent the formation of new tooth structures in the jaw. The osseointegration implants are used to support prosthetic tooth replacement of various functionalities and designs. They replace anything from a single missing tooth to a full arch of teeth. These implants directly fuse with the bone and thus, they offer strength and durability to the new tooth. Generally, the replacement teeth are made to match with existing enamel color of each patient, thereby offering a completely natural appearance. The concept of osseointegration implants is that they help one heal their jaw from the inside out so that new tooth formations do not form anywhere near the damaged area. Apart from being used in dental implants, osseointegration implants are used in limb prosthesis for stable and improved walking and joint movement. These implants are directly connected to bones and therefore do not cause skin breakdown. Besides they feel like an extension of the natural body part.
