Dr A.G.K Gokhale has performed a rare surgery and implanted the first Heart Assist Device in Andhra Pradesh at Yashoda Group of Hospitals, thus saving an old heart patients life.

Dr. Gokhale and his team successfully performed the First Lung Transplantation in Andhra Pradesh at Yashoda Hospitals, Secunderabad, taking the medical facilities at Hyderabad one more step forward. Besides Yashoda Hospitals, there is only one center in India where such facilities for both lung and heart transplantations are available under one roof. Cardiothoracic surgery team at Yashoda Hospitals, Secunderabad, headed by Dr A.G.K. Gokhale, Chief Cardiothoracic, Transplant and Minimal Access Heart Surgeon and Dr G. Subramanyam, Senior consultant Anesthetist, transplanted a lung on 8th of September, 2012, for a 34 years old Mrs. Archana from Pune , making her breathe comfortably again after a long time.

The first of its kind surgery in Andhra Pradesh that doctors have implanted a Heart Assist Device to save the life of a 63-year-old heart patient underwent the complicated surgery at private hospital.Doctors said that Kasturi was suffering from a heart valve problem on the left side with an extremely poor heart function.

About 50 doctors from Cardiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery and General Medicine specialties participated in the program and discussed and exchanged their view for the enhancement of heart transplantation program in Andhra Pradesh and Ventricular Assist Devices (VAD) implantation

Yashoda Hospital, Secunderabad in Association with API-Bidar Chapter organized Interactive session with Dr AGK Gokhale on 26th Feb 2014 at Hotel Mayura, Bidar. Eminent Physicians of Bidar participated in the Interactive Session and discussed regarding "Clinical Management of Heart Failure and Drugs/Surgery in Heart Failure"

Around 150 cardiac surgeons from different parts of the country would be participating in a workshop on 'Minimal Access Cardiac Surgery' organized by Global Hospitals here on Saturday.The workshop would provide a unique platform for cardiac surgeons share their experiences in the rapidly evolving area of cardiac surgery.

The Forte Group and leading consultants of the cardiology department of the National Hospital, Sri Lanka, conducted a scientific session on the 'Recent Advances in Cardiac Sciences' on 3 October. This session was attended by around 150 doctors and proved to be extremely enlightening as many important papers were presented and case studies were discussed
