Crohn's disease can be a chronic inflammatory disease of the digestive tract. The disease is usually called granulomatous enteritis, colitis, local enteritis, regional ileitis, ileitis, or terminal ileitis and it also causes ulcerations of your little friend and large intestine. The ailment can affect the gastrointestinal tract anywhere from the mouth on the anus, but distinctively affects the terminal ileum in addition to demarcated areas of large bowel. The disease is termed after the American medical professional, Burrill Bernard Crohn (1884-1983), who described the illness in 1932.
