£20 and £50 paper notes to expire by end of September - 0 views

  •
Businesses, including community pharmacies, that handle cash have been urged to prepare for the removal of £20 and £50 paper banknotes from circulation. The paper notes of both denominations will no longer be legal tender from Friday 30 September. Cash handling experts Volumatic reminded businesses to make sure that they deposit any paper notes at banks by this date, and ensure they would not be accepting any further paper notes from customers from 1 October onwards. "While businesses continue to face extra demands during the current cost-of living crisis, we've already seen evidence of an uplift in cash usage by consumers, who are now using cash more to help them budget more effectively," Mike Severs, Sales and Marketing Director at Volumatic, said. "With more consumers looking to spend their old paper notes before the end-of-September deadline, it's really important to remember to deposit any paper notes you either already have within your business or receive throughout this month to your bank before the end of September."

Even though there's little research on turmeric for fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome, it may be worth trying since curcumin works like a pain-killing agent in your body. To keep things relatively simple, I'll stick to research while telling you the 'Truth about Turmeric for treating Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS). Turmeric for Fibromyalgia & CFS If you've got pain, fatigue, and sleep disorder with fibromyalgia, you may wonder if nature-based dietary supplements can provide you some substitute to relieve yourself. As for burning calories. It is logical to assume that it does not really matter how you create the deficit - through diet or physical activity. The latter will really help to lose weight if you need to lose about 1-2 kg. But when you want to lose more, you can't do without a diet. I ate right but now I have added physical activity in the form of calorie burning programs from https://bestbodyworkout.com/skinny-legs-big-upper-body/

Schizophrenia and depression caused by smoking - 0 views

  •
Smoking increases the risk of developing schizophrenia and depression, a report by academics from the University of Bristol published on 20 June claims. It says smoking raises the risk of developing schizophrenia by between 53 per cent and 127 per cent and the risk of developing depression by from 54 per cent to 132 per cent. The authors of the report say more research is needed to identify why this is the case and that more evidence is needed to understand its impact on other mental health conditions such as anxiety or bipolar disorder. The evidence, presented at the Royal College of Psychiatrist's international congress, has been shared with the government which is currently developing a new Tobacco Control Plan for publication later this year. Action on Smoking and Health (ASH) said: "Rates of smoking are much higher among people with mental health conditions than those without, and among England's six million smokers there are an estimated 230k smokers with severe mental illness (e.g., schizophrenia and bi-polar disorder) and 1.6 million with depression and anxiety."

Dermal Fillers :What Are The Benefits And Side Effects? - 0 views

  •
Dermal fillers, also known as injectable facial fillers, can be an effective way to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, restore facial volume, and enhance certain features. While dermal fillers are generally safe, it's important to know about the potential benefits and side effects before you decide if they're right for you. In this blog post, we will look at the potential benefits and side effects of dermal fillers. We will also provide some tips for preparing for your treatment and ensuring a safe, successful procedure. So if you're considering dermal fillers, read on to learn more! HOW ARE DERMAL FILLERS INJECTED? Dermal fillers are typically injected directly into the skin with a small needle. Your doctor or injector will decide how much filler should be used and where it should be placed based on your desired outcome. In general, people who want to reduce wrinkles or enhance certain features may need more filler than those who just want to restore the volume in their face. Since they are injected under the skin, dermal fillers are minimally invasive and require little downtime after the procedure. It usually takes around 30 minutes to perform the procedure. Additionally, you may experience some swelling, bruising, and tenderness in the area where the filler was injected. This should subside over the next few days.

6 Things Every Injured Person Needs To Hear - 0 views

  •
Injuries can be devastating, not only physically but emotionally as well. It's hard to adjust to the new reality of your life after you have been injured, and it's even harder when you feel like no one understands. But there are certain things that every injured person needs to hear in order to keep going. These six important things to know to make things easier: 1. YOU ARE NOT ALONE Everyone has gone through something similar, so don't feel like you have to carry this burden all by yourself. Reach out for help and support from family, friends, and professionals who can understand what you're going through and provide guidance as needed. In addition, there are many support groups available that can help you connect with others in similar situations. Also, don't be afraid to seek out therapy or counseling if you need it. For example, if you are going through a traumatic experience, PTSD counseling can help you process your feelings. 2. IT'S OKAY NOT TO BE OKAY It is understandable that you may feel overwhelmed or angry. You are allowed to have these emotions and it does not make you weak or ungrateful for all of the help that you have received. Allowing yourself to express and process these emotions in a healthy way is important for your mental health. Find someone who will listen and allow yourself the time and space to be honest about how you feel. In addition, it's important to take time for yourself and find healthy ways to cope such as exercise, art or music therapy, or simply engaging in activities that make you happy.

Ramadan: Myth-busting tips for those celebrating this week - 0 views

  •
A pharmacist in a leading independent pharmacy chain shares his myth-busting Ramadan advice on managing health and the use of medication while fasting. While the holy month means total fasting in terms of oral consumption, it's still ok, says Ifti Khan, superintendent pharmacist at Well Pharmacy, to have vaccinations and blood tests and to use eye drops or other medical items that are not ingested through the mouth. It's also important for people to keep taking their prescribed medication over the Ramadan period. Anyone who is concerned should speak to their pharmacist about whether they can take their medicine at different times, as stopping it could have serious consequences. Mr Khan, who will be observing Ramadan himself, said: "Confusion can sometimes arise when it comes to medication and managing health conditions whilst fasting", adding it is important for patients to keep managing health during Ramadan. Having injections or vaccinations is fine, as are blood tests, using eye or ear drops, and using anything that patients don't consume orally - so nicotine and other transdermal patches, pessaries and dialysis, for example. It's also ok to eat and drink as a result of a condition which causes forgetfulness.

How to Get Rid of Tonsil Stones (How to remove tonsil stones ) - 0 views

  •
The Tonsil stones, those white or yellow clumps nestled amidst your Tonsils Stones, can be unpleasant and uncomfortable. While harmless in most cases, their bad odor and irritation can be bothersome. Thankfully, several safe and effective methods can help you dislodge those pesky stones. Understanding the Basics: Tonsil stones form when dead cells, bacteria, and mucus get trapped in the crevices of your tonsils. While they often dislodge on their own, some folks experience persistent stones requiring intervention. Here's how to tackle them: Home Remedies: Gargling with warm salt water: Mix 1/2 teaspoon table salt in a glass of warm water. Gargle several times daily, allowing the solution to bathe your tonsils and loosen the stones. Water flossing: Use a water flosser on a low-pressure setting to gently dislodge stones with targeted streams of water. Coughing: Try forceful coughs to dislodge the stones. Be gentle and avoid excessive coughing to prevent irritation. Cotton swab (use with caution): Only do this if you can see the stone clearly and it's easily accessible. Use a clean, wet cotton swab to gently nudge the stone loose. Avoid pushing it deeper or scratching the tonsils.
