It was a night filled with anticipation and excitement, and the atmosphere was electric with a sense of achievement and pride. The 23rd annual Pharmacy Business Awards had the honour of hosting the distinguished Shadow Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Wes Streeting, who served as the event's chief guest. The event took place on 4 October at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge, located on the South Bank of the River Thames, right across from the Houses of Parliament. There was a gathering of 600 guests, impeccably attired by the dress code, which added to the festive atmosphere. Community Pharmacy : The Humble Yet Vital Sector in UK Healthcare | UK 2024 - 0 views

  •
We're approaching that time of year where the sun is supposed to be shinning and things are supposed to quieten down over the summer holidays (note I said supposed to. . . well we have the sun at least). The elections are over, and a new party is in power. Wes Streeting is the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care. He's met with GPs and Dentists and has great ambitions for Primary Care but when will he meet with community pharmacists? To be fair to Wes, he did visit a local pharmacy in his constituency, with CPNEL last year as Shadow Health Secretary (and was a guest speaker at the Pharmacy Business Awards 2023). He has also had meetings with NPA and CPE, so we know he understands the value of Community Pharmacy. The question is, do we as a sector and profession need to shout louder so that we aren't forgotten about, as healthcare plans are being drawn up? Community Pharmacy is a humble sector, not unlike most other HC sectors. The difference is that we often get forgotten. I have lost count of the times I've heard in meetings or conversations "Primary care and community pharmacy. . ." totally disregarding the fact that we are part of primary care.

GUEST COLUMN: Changing landscape of community pharmacy - Latest Pharmacy News | Busines... - 0 views

  •
As we transition in England through yet another NHS organisational change, I ask myself what does this mean for community pharmacy? I would like to think that this change will bring about opportunity and a chance for community pharmacy to showcase and continue the excellent work that was carried out during the height of the pandemic and is still ongoing today. I hope that it allows community pharmacy to be regarded as part of the NHS rather than sitting on the side lines. This change has to lead to better funding for community pharmacy, without sufficient funding we will see more pharmacies close. We are hearing a lot about winter pressures but this year it feels like all year round pressure. What I have seen, whilst the NHS is under such pressure, is North East London (NEL) CCG transitioning to an integrated care board (ICB) almost seamlessly. I have seen people transitioning into new roles, whilst working hard to ensure that all plates are still spinning, which at the moment is no mean feat. I spent a day out recently visiting pharmacies with the chief medical officer of NHS NEL, Dr Paul Gilluley. The visits were positive, we felt listened to and understood. The feedback was great, it was recognised that community pharmacy is often the informal front door to the NHS and that we have so much to offer in terms of ill health prevention. Community pharmacy can offer a total solution as long as we have the tools to do so, which can save so much time and money. An example is the GP CPCS service, which has launched well across NEL.

Premises Injury Case: What Evidence Is Needed? - 0 views

  •
If you have been injured on someone else's property, you may be wondering what evidence is needed to win your case. Property owners are responsible for ensuring that their premises are safe for visitors, and if they fail to do so, they can be held liable for any injuries that occur. In this blog post, we will discuss the types of evidence that may be necessary to prove your case and win financial compensation for your injuries. 1) DUTY OF CARE The first piece of evidence that you will need to prove your case is that the property owner owed you a duty of care. This means that they were required to take reasonable steps to keep you safe from harm while you were on their property. If the property owner did not live up to this duty, and you were injured as a result, they can be held liable according to Carpenter & Zuckerman lawyers. To prove that the property owner owed you a duty of care, you will need to show that you were an invitee or licensee on the property. Invitees are people who are invited onto the property for business purposes, such as customers or delivery people. Licensees are people who are allowed onto the property for non-business reasons, such as social guests. If you were not an invitee or licensee, the property owner may not be held liable for your injuries.

Honey Lemon Ginger Tea: Best Tips For Making It-AMVital - 0 views

  •
Honey lemon ginger tea is a simple and delicious beverage that anyone can make. It has scientifically proven potential health benefits, including giving you an immune boost if you're sick and providing soothing relief if you're not. And it's easy to make! With these simple adjustments, anyone can make Honey Lemon Ginger Tea their own! 1. Start with fresh ingredients. To ensure the best-tasting tea, start with fresh ingredients. Find a bunch of organic lemons at your local grocery store and grab some fresh mint if you have it (if not, don't worry; it will still taste great). You can use regular honey or even raw honey if you'd like to slow down the aging process of honey in your body due to the high amount of antioxidants found in raw honey. If you have time to let this sit overnight before drinking it, I recommend doing so! That way, all those wonderful flavors come together perfectly while they soak into each other's pores. 2. Honey, lemon, and ginger ratios don't have to be exact. The recipe calls for a specific amount of honey, lemon, and ginger, but it's okay if you have a different measurement. The ratio of ingredients can be adjusted up or down according to your personal taste preferences. If you like more lemon than ginger, add more juice and less grated root in the same proportions as you would with the honey and tea leaves. The same goes for the other two ingredients-if you want more sweetness, increase the amount of honey (but keep an eye on how much liquid has been added). To make a large batch at once, I double all my ingredients except for hot water, which I triple before adding it to my teapot, along with loose-leaf green tea. 3. Consider using a large teapot or a pitcher. If you have the space to do so, use a larger teapot or pitcher for brewing and serving. This will help strain out the ginger and make it easier for you to pour it into mugs for multiple guests. You can also make a large batch at once and then store it in the fri
