Water Fasting Benefits for Weight Loss - 0 views

  •
Water fasting, abstaining from all food and drinks except water for a set period, has gained popularity as a potential weight-loss method. It carries potential risks and is not suitable for everyone. Focusing on long-term, sustainable lifestyle changes through a balanced diet, regular physical activity, and mindful eating habits is the best path to achieving and maintaining a healthy weight. While it can lead to Water Fasting Benefits for weight loss, it's crucial to approach this practice with cautious awareness of its potential benefits, drawbacks, and safety considerations. Here's a balanced exploration: Potential Benefits for Weight Loss: Calorie Restriction: The core principle behind any weight loss is burning more calories than you consume. Water fasting drastically restricting calorie intake, leading to weight loss, but not necessarily fat loss. Ketosis: After prolonged fasting (usually over 48 hours), your body shifts from burning glucose to burning fat for fuel (ketosis). This can accelerate fat loss, but requires close monitoring due to potential side effects. Improved Insulin Sensitivity: Some studies suggest short-term water fasting can improve insulin sensitivity, potentially aiding weight management in the long run.

Losing Weight Is Not An Easy Task In Comparison To Making Gains - 0 views

  •
Losing weight is not an overnight success and not a magic pill that a heavy-weight person eats and after a few minutes or second that person looks slim fit. Losing Weight Is Not Easy and a very long path that is filled with lots of milestones, difficulties, and circumstances by which every person gets afraid and forgets the dream of losing weight. Gaining weight is very easy but in losing the weight no one will stand for a long time. Losing excessive weight is just like a war in which everyone drops their weapons, the people who will stand for a long time only succeed. You're absolutely right. While both building muscle and losing weight require dedication and effort, the challenges presented by each are vastly different. Here's a deeper dive into why shedding pounds often proves more complex: Psychology: Visible Progress: Muscle growth tends to be more visually apparent, offering tangible motivation and reinforcement. Seeing definition emerge or weights increasing on the bar provides a clear sense of progress. In contrast, weight loss results can be slower and subtler, making it harder to stay motivated, especially on plateaus. Social Pressure: "Bulking" or gaining muscle for aesthetic purposes is often celebrated and encouraged in fitness circles. Conversely, societal pressures around thinness and weight loss can be intense and negatively impact self-esteem, making it harder to stay committed.

  •
Since 1990, Glendale Pharmacy in Wooler, Northumberland, has been under the ownership of Andrew Booth, who recently decided to sell it to pursue a well-earned retirement. According to Christie & Co, the community pharmacy has been acquired by Jagraj Randeva, who owns a small portfolio of pharmacies in Ashington and Newcastle upon Tyne. Jagraj was particularly drawn to this pharmacy because of its advantageous, unchallenged location and its strong historical performance. Located near the Cheviot Hills and 17 miles south of Berwick-upon-Tweed, Glendale Pharmacy dispenses an average of 6,600 items per month. Karl Clezy, Director - Pharmacy at Christie & Co, noted that Glendale Pharmacy has seen an improvement in its trading performance since the start of the marketing process, increasing its prescription numbers and providing more additional/enhanced services.

Boots Pharmacy in Kemp Town Bids Farewell - A Century-Long Legacy Ends - 0 views

  •
Over a century-year-old Boots pharmacy in St James's Street, Brighton shut its doors permanently on Saturday (20 January) leaving the communities disappointed. The branch in Kemp Town, which was opened to the public for the first time in 1914, was supposed to close on November 19 last year but continued trading into the new year, The Argus reported. Locals are not happy with the retailer's decision to close the store as some say it used to be "always busy with prescriptions and people buying things." Another person recalled that Boots had earlier closed two pharmacies, one on Lewes Road, Brighton, and another on Church Road, Hove. The American-owned health and wellbeing chain is in the process of closing more UK branches in the coming months as it's targeting to reduce its store portfolio to 1,900 from 2,200.

Christina McKelvie : Tackles Drug Policy in Scotland - 0 views

  •
The Scottish government has appointed Christina McKelvie MSP as the new Minister for Drugs and Alcohol policy, following the resignation of Elena Whitham MSP due to health reasons. In a letter to the First Minister, Whitham said she was receiving treatment for post-traumatic stress, which had "greatly" affected her wellbeing. Commenting on the news, Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) Scotland thanked Whitham for supporting them, particularly for her "efforts to bring in a new national service to provide emergency access to supplies of naloxone." RPS Scotland has continuously advocated for the accessibility of naloxone through all community pharmacies (for supply to people who use drugs, family, healthcare professionals and carers), and to make it available in all clinical settings for use in emergencies. It was also the top recommendation of their policy on Pharmacy's role in reducing harm and preventing drug deaths.
