Why we're all deficient in magnesium, the many signs and what to do - 0 views

  •
This is not a recent breakthrough, but in our complicated world of new ideas, simplicity is often overlooked. This article points out that magnesium deficiency is a major problem and I think symptoms stemming from magnesium deficiency can be easily overlooked. The article acknowledges an extensive list of symptoms that seem to be rampant in our society. They are: constipation, high blood pressure (hypertension), anxiety, depression insomnia, behavioral disturbances, lethargy impaired memory/thinking, seizures, fatigue, sleep disturbances, pain, muscle cramps, chronic back pain, headaches, migraines, muscular pain, tendonitis, anger, aggression, ADHD, brain fog, tension, anxiety disorders such as OCD. Sounds familiar? What I think is important about this is article is that before we move on to more complex and expensive solutions for any of these problems, we might want to begin with a simple high quality magnesium supplement of your choice. I take it personally, and see the benefits of it in my own ability to rest and focus. Good mechanics always recommend beginning with the simplest solution first, and if that doesn't work, then work your way up to more expensive theories to solve the problem. Today, people often begin with the most expensive theory because they could feel that because their problem is complicated to them, the solution is not simple and they expect to pay more. This is subjective. I suppose the same strategy could be be applied to health.

Shocking NHS Survey Exposes Record Discrimination Levels - 0 views

  •
The results of a national NHS staff survey, published recently, revealed that frontline healthcare workers are facing record levels of discrimination at work, with 58,000 respondents reporting that they experienced "unacceptable" levels of unwanted sexual behaviour from the public last year. Concerningly, 8.67 per cent of 675,140 NHS workers who responded to the poll said they suffered sexual harassment from patients, patients' relatives, or other members of the public in 2023. Particularly, ambulance staff were affected, with nearly 25 per cent of staff reporting unwanted sexual behaviour from the public last year. According to the survey findings, 3.84 per cent of staff also encountered unwanted sexual behaviour from their colleagues. Dr Navina Evans, Chief Workforce, Training and Education Officer, described the survey results as "very distressing" and said that "such conduct should not be tolerated in the NHS." On the positive side, more NHS workers reported being happier at work and experiencing less burnout than before. Over half of the participants stated they look forward to coming to work, the highest number since 2020, as per the NHS. Dr Evans attributed this improvement to initiatives such as flexible working hours, clinical support squads to help menopausal women at work, and human resources stay advocates.

Pharmacy First Launching Soon to Revolutionize Treatment - 0 views

  •
With the Pharmacy First services scheduled for launch end of this month, legislators explored the potential of community pharmacies to offer specific diagnostic and treatment services in the second public evidence session of pharmacy inquiry this week (January 16). The new service, which will enable pharmacists to offer advice and prescribe treatment for seven minor ailments, is expected to alleviate the pressure on the NHS, reduce GP workload, and cut waiting lists. But MPs and healthcare leaders also acknowledged that there's hesitancy and the mindset of 'GP first, not Pharmacy First' among members of the public. "We must accept that many patients are used to seeing their GP as their first port of call for many health conditions. Pharmacy First is welcome, but there are going to be some restrictions on how quickly some patients will want to take up some of those services, rather than seeing their GP," said William Pett, Head of Policy, Public Affairs and Research, Healthwatch England.
