Ideas for teaching writing

This is a brief article about Shared Writing, shared by Mrs. Hilt, found on twitter - definitely thinking about how I can implement shared writing in my classroom.

Money Words - each letter in the alphabet is given a monetary amount. Example a = a quarter. Words are listed and the students must find the value of that word according to the key. I used this with my higher students in my low math class as an enrichment activity while others mastered the skill.

I used this in my math class, with students who were struggling to tell time to the minute. I used the "Stop the Clock" 1 minute intervals, but there's lots of good things on this site!

The first two clips are great to use for studying communities. The first clip discusses the definition of communities and provides examples. The second clip introduces government and discusses laws.
