Presenting Tangent Transmission: Newest LA band redefines rock music - 0 views

  •
Tangent Transmission is not the typical Los Angeles rock band. In fact, they give a whole new definition to the meaning of rock. Perhaps it should be called tangent rock, because they do not intersect with any other sound except with their own, taking audiences to new heights by giving them an experience they have ever heard before. Listen to an exclusive full length 4-track music preview from their soon-to-be-released debut EP right here: http://thegreatunknowns.podomatic.com/entry/2010-07-09T08_12_27-07_00 Read an exclusive one-on-one interview with lead singer, pianist, and guitarist Sam Sobo: http://greatunknownsmusicexpose.blogspot.com/2010/07/tangent-transmission-redefining-rock.html

90s Indie Rock Bands and Albums: The coolest band? Pavement. - 0 views

  •
The 90s act Pavement is Indie, slacker rock at its pop-sensible and rock-out-able best. To break that down a little more, Pavement is the type of band who was so clever with the way they wrote their songs, they never felt the need to dress them up with too many frills, stage shows, or glamor. Furthermore the idea of Indie, or independent, rock is anti-establishment in nature so the lackadaisical, or "too cool," presentation of the music was an important cultural element that was not lost upon Pavement's audience. For these reasons, this article examines one of the largest underground icons of the 1990s.

Journal For Plague Lovers - Manic Street Preachers - Listen free and discover music at ... - 1 views

  •
Listen free to Manic Street Preachers - Journal For Plague Lovers (Jackie Collins Existential Question Time, Peeled Apples and more). 18 tracks (54:07). Manic Street Preachers are an alternative rock band from Blackwood, Wales, formed in 1986. Often referred to as "the Manics", they are James Dean Bradfield (vocals, guitars), Nicky Wire (bass, occasional vocals) and Sean Moore (drums, backing vocals, occasional trumpet). The band were originally a quartet: lyricist and rhythm guitarist Richey Edwards mysteriously vanished on 1 February 1995. He was declared presumed deceased in November 2008. The Manics released their debut album Generation Terrorists in 1992. Their combination of androgynous glam punk imagery, outspoken invective and songs about "culture, alienation, boredom and despair" soon gained them a loyal following and cult status. The band's later albums retained a politicized and intellectual lyrical style, while adopting a broader alternative rock sound.

90s Indie Rock Bands and Albums: The Best Band You've Never Heard? Slint. - 0 views

  •
This is an article about Slint, a relatively unknown band from Louisville, Kentucky that has survived as a cult favorite even though they only released a pair of albums and a single containing less than twenty songs over twenty years ago. The thought that such a thing could happen and that a band could exist as an icon despite such little output is the impetus behind this article.

Introducing rocks best new and unheard talents: Forewalls - 0 views

  •
Listen to runner up band from Mt. SAC's 1st Annual Battle of the Bands. They surpassed 14 other bands to finish in the 2nd spot. This says a lot about how good a band that has only been together for five months. Personally, I was disappointed they didn't win the BOTB event. Talent scouts were more interested in FOREWALLS than any other performer. Presenting the alluring Electro Folk Rock sounds of "IN THE CINEMA" - 1 views

  •
In the Cinema brings an artful sound never heard before. Not to mention, their unique music style is nearly impossible to compare with other artists. This sort of quality is what most artists strive to achieve. Many artists accomplish this task, but they do not produce the kind of quality music that people enjoy over and over. Where other artists have failed, the brother duo, Ryan and Joe Hughes have succeeded by doing what others only dream of. Ryan and Joe have taken the traditional art of folk music, combined it with modern rock and tied it with an electronica sensibility to create, In the Cinema. Listen to music from their 2010 debut album, For the Struggle with a special appearance by the band, here at: http://thegreatunknowns.podomatic.com/entry/2010-07-16T08_34_02-07_00 Read an exclusive interview with Ryan and Joe at: http://greatunknownsmusicexpose.blogspot.com/2010/07/interview-with-in-cinema-cinematic.html
