Nikki Forova is a Pop singer/songwriter that compares to the likes of Vanessa Carlton, Tori Amos, and Michelle Branch. In October of 2010, Nikki entered and won the MTV Duets contest out of thousands of entries. After a private visit from a representative of MTV, Nikki was flown out to New York for a rare opportunity engagement to perform the song, "A Thousand Miles" with Vanessa Carlton herself and was aired on the MTV television show, "MTV Duets". Listen to runner up band from Mt. SAC's 1st Annual Battle of the Bands. They surpassed 14 other bands to finish in the 2nd spot. This says a lot about how good a band that has only been together for five months. Personally, I was disappointed they didn't win the BOTB event. Kathk artist Moumala Nayak from New Delhi presented "Kathak Recital". This musical evening was dedicated to the world famous Sitar player late Pt. Ravishankar ji. Jaipur News: Kathak Recital by Moumala in Jaipur The Kathak Recital program started with Ardha Narishwar Stuti. Moumala commenced her recital with this devotional piece which depicts the beauty of the two forms of Shiva - the feminine grace of goddess Parvati and the masculine vigour of Mahadev nicely combined in one person, i.e. why he has been worshipped as the 'Ardha Narishwar'.
