This is a Universal Design for Learning project built by CAST, a nonprofit R&D organization that uses Universal Design for Learning as a tool to improve learning opportunities for all individuals, including those with disabilities (originally Center for Applied Special Technology). Daily lessons for subjects across curriculum based on Times content are offered. Suggestions are given for using the The Learning Network posts in the classroom. The Learning Network is accessible without a digital subscription, as are the articles linked from Learning Network posts.

The big take-away seems to be that 51% of college presidents surveyed find that "online courses offer an equal educational value compared with courses taken in a classroom," but only 29% of the general public agrees with this statement.

This is an online exercise where writers can practice creating a Works Cited page (MLA style). Books and articles are given, and there is a link to the correct version of the Works Cited page, so students can check their answers. There is no attribution, but this is a learning object presented by Wisc-Online. Items in this digital library were "developed primarily by faculty from the Wisconsin Technical College System...."

This newly published guide raises questions about the meaning of assessment, and how more effective assessment (ideally taking advantage of current technologies) might also promote the idea of students becoming lifelong learners.
