An analysis by the Michigan Department of Education shows that at more than half of high schools, fewer than 10% of students graduating this spring are college ready. ACT's College Readiness Benchmarks are the minimum ACT test scores required for students to have a high probability of success in credit-bearing college courses-English Composition, social sciences courses, College Algebra, or Biology.

Focuses on where California's K-12 and community college systems meet and explores some of the potential opportunities for building better bridges between them. These include utilizing common approaches to assess student readiness and enabling K-12 and community college educators to jointly plan for the successful transition of students from high school to community college. The GED testing service has just published Crossing the Bridge: GED credentials and Post Secondary Educational Outcomes. This is a baseline report that follows GED graduates from 2003 (first cohort of the new test) and their enrollment, persistence, and graduation from post secondary institutions. It compares this group with the high school diploma and general population for the school's attended. This is the first year report of a 3 year project to provide a cohort of students with targeted instruction, GED passage, career exploration, and college readiness. The GED administered will be a prototype using the national State College Readiness standards.

College Board study on developing multi-dimensional college ready benchmarks

Presentation slides detail Developmental Summer Bridge programs (DSB) in Texas. The research describes college-connected interventions in high school settings and assesses the level of coordination for college readiness between high schools and local colleges. The slides also analyzes the strengths and challenges of 5 different programs across the state.

Documents the partnerships between high schools and community colleges and provides evidence of the early assessment and intervention programs to reduce college remediation. The pilot programs are part of the Illinois College and Career Act.

Published by the Association for Career and Technical Education(ACTE), this 2-page document asserts that career readiness combines academic, "employability," and technical skills, and is not the same as more traditional "college readiness." The document itself is undated, but is footnoted (though most of the sources are also undated).
