Great site - and free- allows one to find geo based data and create maps. You may also use your own data or export data to your own mapping software.

This tool is awesome and works so easily. I use it in combination with an iphone database called Tap Forms to import and export data from ipod touch/iphones to a computer. The database is called Tap Forms. We are going to use it in Costa Rica - no need for Wifi network!! Great for being in the wilds.
