This a medically and forencically accurate description of the separation of "clot and serum" that occurs in bleeding from a wound inflicted post-mortem. Some Christians consider this categorical proof that the God-man, Yeshua, actually died of crucifixion and was, then, burried as recounted in the Gospels' accounts of Yesuha's last hours on earth as the God-man. Other experts believe that the Shroud is a medieval hoax. (If it is, how some aspects of the surface markings were created, plus the medical science unknown at the time that they depict, stumps some modern forensic experts.

One is wise to note that God did so only AFTER Adam and Eve had gone into the clothing business and covered their so-called "private parts". God did not design man to wear clothes except as protection which is why He may have replaced the foliage with the more sturdy animal skins as He sent them into the "cold cruel" world! The sacrifice of the animals to cover the sins, not the bodies, of human kind also presages the ultimate and future sacrifice of Yesus (Jesus) for the sins and sin of those whom would trust in Him and it in the "fullness of time".

Satan cons modern Christians, I believe, with diabolically-generated shame to believe the opposite untruth i.e. public nudity is shameful and unBiblical. Could not Adam's reference in Genesis to his shame have been about his disobedience rather than about his being naked? Jamie's is an interesting question. Initially, I reacted that the Bible tells me to only model Jesus. Then, I remembered Paul said: "Follow me as I follow Messiah".

Ms. Day's is a VERY interesting point. For me, it seems to be the opposite of that of too many Christians who don't realize that every Follower of Jesus is called a Saint by the Apostles in our Bible.

Given these reasons for his suggested reverence of St. Francis, would Jamie also suggest we "revere" celebrities not singled out by the Catholic or Orthodox churches who have benefited human kind in a way not normally associated with "building the Kingdom of God", e.g. Albert Einstein, Bill Gates ...to name only a couple to make my point?

This is why without God, humankind is in big trouble!

Because God is sovereign, He gets His way ...regardless of our so-called free will. 

A Jesus Follower's escape from God's wrath and death is because we are "in Christ" (2 Corinthians 5:17-21) when we enter the next life plus, being also in Christ in this one, we confess our sin moment-to-moment (1 John 1:9).

Isaiah 5:20-21 outlines the behaviour of those in what the Bible calls "the world", i.e., every human being (Romans 3:23-26 & 6:23). The Bible makes clear this group includes even Followers of Jesus because sometimes we live out of our flesh by not "walking in the spirit". (Galatians 5:16-19 & 25) God punishes all who disobey His laws because His character of "justice" demands consequences be extracted ...even given His character of grace. Jesus Followers, who truly "fear God" (Proverbs 1:7 & 2:1-7) have an escape from the clear wrath of God and eternal separation from His presence. We have ridiculed the time-honoured values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment. Most Jesus Followers would work from the premise that Yeshua's/Jesus' words during his last Supper on earth, 'till His return at the end of times, were inspired by God's Holy Spirit ...like all His other recorded comments in the Scriptures.

Like many scholars, including some Christian ones, statements like this one are often rooted in a disbelief of the supernatural plus a denial of the possibility that God gave Gamaliel, the Grandfather, a prophetic "word of knowledge"! Prophesy can place the words in the elder Gamaliel's mouth who did live at the time of Jesus who also prophesied the soon-coming (about 40 years later) destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem.

The Scripture makes clear, not 'presumably', that Jesus discussed His replacement of an Old Covenant commandment with a New Covenant one while explaining the NEW symbolism of the bread and wine as remembrances and tokens of His sacrificed body and blood on behalf of all who would believe ...NOT the Jews deliverance from Egypt... but all humankind's route to deliverance from the penalty of our sin nature and sins (Romans 3:23 & 6:23) through Him!

I'm not so sure the Bible documantation of Jesus' miracles are responsible for the horrors Mr. Sullivan seems to attribute to them.

Is using Matthew 5:13-16 to justify spending one's time in so-called "social action" really Biblical? Are we wise attempting to get worldly people to obey what they cannot and do what only Jesus Followers are commanded? Does it not seem a waste of time and energy better spent "making disciples" (Matthew 28:18-20) ...one on one (2 Timothy 2:1-2)... God's clearly commanded plan?

When we believe this, 1 jojn 5: 11-13 says we are guaranteed to spend eternity with God because of what Yeshua/Jesus did for us. He paid the full penalty for our sin nature and sins when He by His choice and willingly gave up His life on a cross (torture instrument) for those who believe in His gift and "Good news" of salvation through Him with His and our heavenly Father.

The "Fruit of the Spirit" is a package of powerful character traits that we receive when we are born-again as "New Creations" in Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:17). Jesus Himself is this package because He is living His life our through us from inside us as He promises. In the verses above, the Apostle Paul has described his too-frequent, sinful behaviour as God's Apostle. (Don't be shocked. Paul put his toga on one arm at a time just like you do your shirt!) And what God had Paul cry out in desperation was: "Who will rescue me?" and not: "What will set me free?" The Who is Paul's, and our, only Saviour, Yeshua (Jesus), the Messiah as he expalins in the next verse.
