  •
iPad sales are surpassing computer sales, and the demand continues to increase. Transition from paper to tablets. There is more emission when producing an iPad than when producing paper but it is balanced from consuming on the same device rather than buying new books over and over again. The disposal of tablets is a little more tricky. E-waste is often sent to other countries.

E-Hell on Earth: Where the West's Electronics Go to Die - 1 views

  •
Do you know where you old electronics go when you get rid of them? If not, you should check out this article. It is eye opening and shocking. To say the least. It talks about how our old electronics are sent to a waste processing plant in Africa. This waste processing plant is positioning people and children living in Ghana, which is on the west coast of Africa. The name of the waste treatment plant is Agbogbloshie. Apparently it is an illegal landfill. It is located very close to Ghana, which is the reason it is poisoning the people there. The electronics that are sent there are processed by "young men and children." These workers tend to earn about $4 a day. The poisons emitted when they burn these electronics are stunting the workers mental and physical growth.

iPad or Book? - 0 views

  •
iPads could help you leave a smaller carbon footprint. The production of an iPad mini has the smallest amount of carbon emission when compared to an iPad 4, air 13", pro 15", iMac 27", and Mac Pro. Also, iPad minis use much less electricity to run. Also, small tablets can help to reduce your media footprint if you do things like download books onto your iPad instead of having a hard copy.
