Nobody has ever heard Holi celebration in air but the floor of SpiceJet became dance floor to party and shake legs for crew of this aircraft on the eve of the festival of colours, i.e. Holi. The expenses of this celebration slammed a tremendous blow to no-frill carrier SpiceJet since DGCA issued a show cause notice to the flight authority with hefty penalty. Two of its pilots also got suspension from their services.

Low-cost airlines IndiGo and SpiceJet will now charge for web check-in from passengers, and this has upset fliers. Check-ins at airports won't be charged but would mean standing in queues and reaching there well in advance. IndiGo's fee starts at  100, while that of SpiceJet's starts at  99.

In a first-of-its-kind experiment for India, SpiceJet flew India's first biofuel-powered flight from Dehradun today morning.A 72-seater Turboprop Q400 plane took off from Dehradun's Jolly Grant airport, demonstrating that biofuel could, in fact, be used to replace the extremely costly aviation turbine fuel (ATF) that is normally used for flying.
