Uttarakhand is in its final stage of welcoming its new Chief Minister Harish Rawat as a successor of Bahuguna (the former CM of Uttarakhand). He marked his presence in Dehradun amid chanting of supporters and bang-bang of drums where the Kumaoni folk dancers enticed the occasion.

In compliance with an order of Uttarakhand High Court, the Centre has asked Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to block 827 porn websites, PTI reports. The HC had asked for 857 sites to be blocked but MeitY, Ministry of Electronics and IT, found 30 of these websites didn't have pornographic content.

Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Rawat said Sanjay Dutt has offered to lead an anti-drug campaign to be launched by 6 northern states affected by the drug menace. Sanjay had himself suffered much due to drug addiction early in his career and would like to contribute to the campaign, he said
