It seems like Shimla is set to join the long list of Indian cities that have been renamed. Following the renaming of Allahabad to Prayagraj, some right-wing Hindu groups in Himachal Pradesh have launched a campaign demanding that Shimla be renamed to Shyamala. However, not everyone is convinced.

To mark the 75th anniversary of Netaji hoisting the Indian Tricolor at Port Blair for the first time, the Center has decided to rename three Andaman & Nicobar islands. The three islands will get Indian names, which will be announced by PM Modi during his trip to Port Blair on December 30.

The Union Health Ministry has invited suggestions for renaming the country's drug regulator CDSCO in line with its expanded roles. In a public notice issued on Thursday, the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) said that its name was given considering its role when it was created, but the present nomenclature was not reflecting its roles and responsibilities.
