The government told the Supreme Court that "secret" Rafale deal-related documents were stolen from the Defense Ministry and petitioners filing review pleas in the matter are relying on classified documents, violating the Official Secrets Act.

SC rejected the Center's objections to the use of stolen secret documents for review petitions in the Rafale case. It stated the review pleas will be heard merits, adding it will fix a date for the hearing. The petitions seek a review of the SC's previous judgment, giving clean chit to the Center.

After months of controversy, it seems that there might be some clarity on the details of the Rafale deal at long last. The Supreme Court, on Wednesday, asked the government to submit details of the deal, including pricing, cost of jets, and steps taken to seal the deal, in a sealed cover in 10 days.

Weeks after the Supreme Court gave a clean chit to the Center on the Rafale deal, Arun Shourie, Yashwant Sinha, and Prashant Bhushan have sought a review of the decision. The trio's petition holds that the SC's verdict had relied on incorrect claims made by the Center, and hence requires review.
