Having scorched media and entertainment, and having touched industry, the #MeToo fire has now spread to the Indian judiciary. On Friday, the Supreme Court took cognizance of a plea filed by a former female judge who had quit in 2014 alleging sexual harassment by a Madhya Pradesh High Court judge.

The #MeToo movement has hit Tata Motors, with its corporate communications head Suresh Rangarajan being accused of not one, but multiple counts of sexual harassment. Following the allegations, the HR of Tata Motors assured that a probe was underway and that appropriate action would be taken.

The ripples of the #MeToo movement have reached Narendra Modi government as MJ Akbar, current minister of State for External Affairs has been accused of sexual harassment by a journalist. Priya Ramani narrated her unpleasant encounter with Akbar in a hotel room, and another journalist testified it.

The External Committee, formed on the request of The Wire, to investigate sexual harassment allegations leveled against its contributing editor Vinod Dua has been dissolved. The committee couldn't complete probe as it didn't have 'unconditional consent' from both sides. Dua had denied allegations.
