The slap of nature in the form of rumbling hailstorm left the farmers of Maharashtra sobbing, weeping and grief-stricken. The uncertain hailstorm hit Maharashtra's 28 districts causing destruction to Rabi crop sown in 11 lakh hectares. The crop is estimated to be worth Rs. 5,000 crore as referred to the information availed by the State agricultural department. The worst effect of it is seen in most parts of Marathwada, Western Maharashtra, North Maharashtra and Vidarbha.

A speedy truck container hit a Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) bus near Malkapur in Buldhana district of Maharashtra on today morning. Due to this road mishap, three schoolgirls were killed and 14 were left wounded.

In a shocking piece of news, six people died in Maharashtra on Saturday due to an explosion in a chemical factory in Dhule district. Reports said at least 70 people are still trapped inside the establishment. Multiple cylinder blasts are said to have caused the incident. A team of National Disaster Response Force has been sent. Rescue operations are underway.

 Pune police have raided the houses of many people with 'Maoist links' and detained several suspects across India. The suspects were detained in connection with alleged Maoist involvement in the Elgaar Parishad event in Pune that police believe sparked off  violence across Maharashtra in January.

A Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) bus fell down into a 300-foot-deep valley at Tokawade valley in Thane district on Thursday and took life of at least 27 people. The incident took place at around 9.30am near Malshej Ghat, which is a popular picnic spot, where the bus was hit by a tempo and as a result the bus driver lost control and the bus slid off the road and plunged into the valley.

Maharashtra Congress has taken strong objection to two channels for airing serials focusing on schemes of Centre, at a time when Model Code of Conduct (MCC) is in place for the upcoming polls. The party approached the Election Commission on Monday and sought a ban on these channels.

Fugitive diamantaire Nirav Modi's sprawling seaside bungalow located in Alibaug, Maharashtra was demolished on Friday.Raigad District Collector Vijay Suryawanshi confirmed explosives were used in the process. The bungalow, named Roopanya, was demolished as it was illegally constructed and violated several environmental norms.

A 40-year-old man, who was returning home after immersing his wife's ashes, was among four people killed when a 40-feet hoarding in railway station premises fell on vehicles on the adjoining road in Pune today, the police said. The injured were rushed to a nearby government-run hospital.

महाराष्ट्र में हो रही भारी बारिश का कहर लगातार जारी है। बारिश के चलते रत्नागिरी का तिवरे बांध टूट गया, जिससे आसपास के इलाकों में बाढ़ जैसे हालात हो गए हैं। इस हादसे में 6 लोगों की मौत हो गई है और कई लोग लापता बताये जा रहे हैं। जब तक चिपलुन में बने इस बांध के टूटने के बारे में ग्रामीणों को चेताया जाता, उससे पहले ही पानी यहां बने घरों को अपने साथ बहाकर ले गया।

मुंबई में बारिश आफत बनकर बरस रही है। लगातार हो रही बारिश के चलते मुंबई में हालत इतने खराब हो गए हैं कि नौसेना को बुलाया गया है।मौसम विभाग के अनुसार, मुंबई में अभी भी बारिश से राहत मिलने के आसार नहीं हैं।अगले कई घंटों में मुंबई और आसपास के इलाकों में भारी बारिश होने का अनुमान है।बारिश के कारण दीवारें गिरने से अलग-अलग जगहों पर 21 लोगों की मौत हो चुकी है।
