Weeks after the Supreme Court gave a clean chit to the Center on the Rafale deal, Arun Shourie, Yashwant Sinha, and Prashant Bhushan have sought a review of the decision. The trio's petition holds that the SC's verdict had relied on incorrect claims made by the Center, and hence requires review.

The Supreme Court delivered its judgment on the ban of firecrackers across the nation and said a countrywide ban is not feasible. A bench of Justices AK Sikri and Ashok Bhushan reserved the order on August 28 after hearing arguments of petitioners, firecrackers manufacturers, the Centre, and CPCB.

Famous actor and accomplished playwright Girish Karnad passed away on Monday at the age of 81, confirmed reports. He was suffering from a prolonged illness and breathed his last at his residence in Bengaluru. Karnad was awarded the Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan and won four Filmfare awards.
