The Supreme Court on Tuesday granted bail to senior Congress leader P Chidambaram in the INX Media case. On Thursday, the top court had reserved its order on the 74-year-old leader's bail plea in the case. Chidambaram is being probed on allegations of money laundering by the Enforcement Directorate.

Earlier on March 26 Supreme Court agreed to give conditional bail to Sahara Chief Subrata Roy and asked Sahara Group to deposit Rs. 10,000 crore for Subrata's bail but on Thursday Sahara Group presented a fresh proposal before Supreme Court.

Sahara Chief Subrata Roy, who is in Tihar jail since March 4, gets conditional bail from Supreme Court but he has been asked by the court to pay Rs. 10,000 crore with the market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) before his release.

In a bizarre incident, a 56-year-old woman was detained at the Delhi airport after she threw a power bank in agitation and it exploded. The incident resulted in commotion and panic at the airport, forcing the authorities to arrest her. Reportedly, she later apologized, and has been released on bail.

Ahead of his Supreme Court hearing in the INX Media case, Congress leader P Chidambaram was visited by party leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra at the Tihar Jail on Wednesday morning. Today, the court will hear Chidambaram's bail plea in the case filed by the Enforcement Directorate.
