The Supreme Court on Thursday scrapped section 377 of Indian Penal Code giving a new found freedom to LGBTQ community. The constitution bench was headed by Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra, whose tenure ends soon. The arguments were heard for four days in July and had reserved the judgement.
Homosexuality is not a crime, the RSS said on Thursday, while maintaining that it does not support same-sex marriage as it was not natural. The comments came on a day the Supreme Court unanimously decriminalized part of Section 377 of IPC, which criminalizes consensual unnatural sex.
Of course, in India, Section 377 of Indian Penal Code is considered to be a crime, but an international bank has taken such a decision in the interest of its employees.
