An excursion to the Parliament House of New South Wales offers students a curriculum based, educational tour that engages students with the Key Learning Area of HSIE (in particular, civics and citizenship). The visit provides students with the opportunity to learn about parliament procedures, become familiar with democracy in NSW, meet MPs, observe the parliament in action and engage in a role play. This is an excellent venue because it allows students to interact with politics which is relevant to their lives.
