The Roar and Snore package is particularly engaging for students as it is a 'hands on' learning experience. It includes:

    - a guided night time walk with the opportunity to see the night habits of some of the animals as well as feed them (make sure students do not have torches that will shine in the animals eyes, red light torches are provided)

    - the chance to hold smaller animals, reptiles and insects such as lizards, snakes, echidnas and stick insects

    - a guided early morning walk before the zoo opens so children can observe the animals without the crowds.

The Taronga Zoo website offers great resources and support to teachers when planning activities for their students. They also has "Zoomobile" that visit a diverse range of venues to provide hands-on learning and entertainment for all ages and most occasions. Students can now visit the Zoo without leaving their classroom through the use of a range of interactive video conferences, making learning accessible to all students. Also on offer are two iPad applications which allow students to discover and explore Wild Australia trails at Taronga Zoo and Australia's wildlife. Taronga Zoo also offers support to teachers. The Taronga Teachers Association (TTA) is a professional membership group that is committed to supporting and assisting teachers to become more effective environmental educators.
