Content, Collaboration and Curation… - 5 views

  •
Kirsten Wilson (@teachwiki) shares how social media has provided the platform for educators (& others) to share, collaborate, & communicate, moving us from just being social to a community of learners. Curation is an important part of that process. She shares apps she uses to collect and share with others. I like how she includes several good questions to consider in the process.

Why some smart ppl are reluctant to share - 5 views

  •
Smart people want to give their best and as they learn more, they learn that they need to learn a lot more before they start sharing. They learn some more and they learn they need to learn some more. What they forget is that most of the expertise that they already have is either becoming "obvious" to them or better yet, going into their "background thinking."

Kyle Pace, Google Certified Teacher and Instructional Tech. Specialist shares his insights into creating workflows in Google Drive with students. The most common methods used are #2 and #3 (Doctopus is another popular script that I like). However, another teacher shared another on you can view here ( http://goo.gl/Kuy3b9 ) that utilizes the idea of a digital portfolio. Using one of these methods is KEY to helping you and your students more effectively leverage Google Drive...and keep your Inbox a bit leaner from all of those file sharing notifications.

Imagining the Internet - 1 views

Old world privacy was keeping people out. Thus if you found yourself with access you felt you had the right to do what ever you wanted to do with the information. Though you were expected to be circumspect.  While today's privacy is learning to protect the meaning of what is said. I say one thing and it means something different to each person who hears it.  You can share the information anyway you see fit, but don't share the meaning.
