Sofia Coppola is an American director, screenwriter, producer and actress. She is best known as the daughter of the Francis Ford Coppola until she made a name for herself and stepped out of her father's shadow by virtue of going home an Academy award for Best Original Screenplay for the comedy-drama Lost in Translation. She was also nominated for the Best Director at the Academy in the same movie. In 2010, she was the first American woman to bring home the top prize in the Venice Film Festival known as the Golden Lion. Sofia Coppola appeared in all The Godfather movies. Being the daughter of the great filmmaker has its perks. Sofia appeared as a baby Michael Francis Rizzi, son of Connie Corleone and Carlo Ricci being baptized in The Godfather I. In The Godfather II, Sofia played as an immigrant girl. In The Godfather III, Sofia played the daughter of Michael Corleone, the Godfather and son of Don Vito Corleone. Her involvement in the movie caused an uproar from the critics when she was accused of nepotism. Sofia Coppola was the third to direct a co-star. Sofia appeared as a handmaiden Sache in the Star Wars Anthology specifically in the Episode 1 Phantom Menace. She co-starred with Hayden Christensen in Star Wars and in the movie The Virgin Suicides, she was seated in the director's chair while Hayden was an actor. She also directed Rose Byrne in the movie Marie Antoinette.
Sofia Coppola is a fashion designer too.
