"Introduction to the Artistic Style of Surrealism." ArtHistory.net. Web 9 Nov. 2010. This article discusses how Surrealism has progressed and captured Modern imagination and Art. Surrealism started from the work and culture of Salvador Dali. Other surrealists, such as Andre Breton, wanted to explore further through literature, poetry, and the human mind. Breton described wrote a novel and described Surrealism as "those two seemingly contradictory states, dream and reality, into a sort of absolute reality, of surreality." One of the main reason why Surrealism grew and has effected contemporary art is because it has captured attention in numerous countries such as Europe, the United States, South America, and Mexico. It brought a sense of excitement for artists because it broadened the typical view of life as we know it. It allowed artists to create works in which they only dreamed about. Another surrealist artist, Kahlo, was very passionate about her work. An example of her work was an image of herself in a hospital bed as a victim with glaring objects hovering over her. She wanted to show viewers the sad nature of hopelessness. Kahlo was a large influence for the Surrealist movement.

Shanes traces the roots of popular mass culture in the late 18th century when the industrial and political revolutions industrialized the Western World. Pop Art is said to have originated from Surrealism in Britain when Eduardo Paolozzi, Peter Blake, and Richard Hamilton began exploring comic books, advertising, and folk culture. Artist, Claes Oldenberg, began works of art that connected to "store exhibitions," which filled galleries with common American objects. This emphasized and worshiped consumer goods.

This article helps prove the underlying feelings behind Andy Warhol's art. This article describes how Warhol appealed to his audience.

This article examines Dali's life through his childhood and his love of art throughout his life. It describes Salvador as a person and his artwork. His artwork is mentioned and seen in different exhibitions where it is analyzed by others.

It shows the world's interest in the Dali's different outlook on the Surrealist movement. It also explains his works and his influence on the development of Pop art in the 1960s.

It explains his part of his background that molded his overall reputation as an artist. It also helps the reader to understand his unique personality.

This article provides an insight into the life of Salvador Dali's, specifically his childhood. It shows his interest in art at a young age. It explains the relationships with the people who were close to Dali throughout his life. In addition, it begins to explain what Surrealism is.

Kitwana, Bakari. The Hip Hop Generation: Young Blacks and the Crisis in African American Culture. New York: Basic Civitas, 2002. Print. This book talks about how rap has negatively influenced young black kids. I think that this book is very important because this is a bit of a problem in the black community and I think that it needs to be addressed. Although hip-hop has positive factors, it has a lot of negative factors that deal with not only blacks, but all races. This book discusses a lot of important issues, and I think it provides a lot of good information.

Print.T his book describes how rap has grown in other countries other than the U.S. Most people don't think of rap as being something that is international, but it has grown to almost all of Europe and is even getting started in Asia. Rap is becoming the most popular type of music in the whole world and reading this book confirms that. Rap is huge and it's only going to get bigger as time moves on because soon the generation that listens to rap will become older and take up more of the population.

It shows how the inspiation of Filippo Tommaso Marinetti sparked groth in technology and industry.
