CHAPTER 4- I liked this website the best because it displayed all the ways you can create balance in a work. You can do it by value, color, shape, texture, etc. I also liked that it explained the horizontal axis.
BALANCE. This website expands more on how one can achieve balance in a layout, specifically with symmetrical and asymmetrical balancing. It also provides examples of each balancing act to highlight the methods described in the website.
Balance is one of the important points the success of a design. Everyone loves the convenience to what they see. Balance in graphic design can be achieved by adjusting the visual weight of each element, both in terms of scale, color, contrast, etc.
Chapter 4: A thorough explanation of balance in web design, with examples, including types of balance other than just symmetrical and asymmetrical; such as radial, etc.
This site gives great insight to the elements of design in regards to contrast and gives excellent visual examples. Even though the website is for a painter the same principles in designing paintings can and do apply to other forms of design.
This John Lovett site gives you an overview on all elements and principles of design, including contrast. The website is interactive because there are lessons on everything from how to use watercolors to improving tonal contrast.
CONTRAST. This website also deals a lot with what contrast is but it mostly highlights why it's necessary for a format to have contrast in it. I like this website a lot and think that it's very straight to the point and concise with its purpose.
