ENGL307: Digital Writing

I found this video helpful because I didn't realize there were different websites you could go to to get page layouts. It is a nice tutorial and very simple to follow.

This video shows how to embed a video to Wordpress. It will be helpful if I ever want to upload a video to my blog. It is very simple instructions.

WORDPRESS. This website shows you how to make your own wordpress theme using an application called Lubith. This seems like it's a really cool and useful tool in conjunction with wordpress.

Some really interesting and varied ways to promote your wordpress blog. Some things on here that I haven't considered before and will be trying.

This is a neat office website help guide to using and setting grids in MW 2007. I found it pretty useful.

ALIGNMENT. This is a really fun, quirky little comic that gives pointers about alignment on pages and documents. It's rather interesting in the way it presents its information. 

This site offers detailed information on how to improve your wordpress blog security.

This site gives you 13 different plug ins to improve your wordpress blog.

CONTRAST. This website not only gives a short explanation of the concepts of design but it also gives examples from actual websites which portray the elements in use. Extremely helpful for visual learners. 

This is a blog site that discusses the four principles of good design including alignment. Each principle is discussed in depth and images are used to support the discussion.

WORDPRESS This website gives the top 5 wordpress video tutorials. I found it very informative and the videos ranged from getting started to password-protecting a post to adding a blogroll.

WORDPRESS This youtube video shows how to create and edit pages. I found this interesting because I have never utlized the pages option before only the posts

CHAPTER 5:ALIGNMENT I liked this website because it shows how alignment is used in web page layouts which i think would be very helpful in this class and in this digital age

Ch 5-BOD Alignment This page illustrates what alignment is and provides a hands-on approach to understanding this method of design in documentation.

BoD Chapter 4: I really like this site because it provides visual examples for all styles of balance.

JayDax website is developed by a husband wife team, (John and Shelia Chapman) http://www.jaydax.co.uk/lastsupper/lastsupper.htm Rhetorical Analysis: This is a painting of the Last Supper painted by Leonardo Da Vinci. The purpose of this painting is to depicting the scripture in the Gospel of John 13:21,, in the Holy Bible. The targeted audiences are people who are Christians, artist, bible and historian scholars. Understanding the individuals in the painting are biblical, namely Jesus Christ in center of painting establishes a portion of the targeted audience, and the fact that it is a well known painting of Da Vinci establishes the art and historian scholar audience. Design Analysis: The painting is very good example of visual weight. Both symmetrical and asymmetrical balanced are use. Jesus is centered as well as the arch in the center of the table and the apostles are depicted on both sides of Jesus using symmetrical balance. When examining the table setting of the food symmetrical balance is used. Other examples of symmetrical balance are the rear windows, the gridded ceiling. All of these examples convey the definition of symmetrical as history, dignity, and formality. Asymmetrical balance in seen in the arches, one side is colored in and on side white space is used providing contrast and visual weight. Although the panels on the wall are symmetrical the contrast used on the left side provides an unequal, asymmetrical, balance.
