CHAPTER 5:ALIGNMENT
I liked this website because it shows how alignment is used in web page layouts which i think would be very helpful in this class and in this digital age
BoD Chapter 5: This site explains the definition, the history, and the benefits of proper alignment in web design. Furthermore, it provides step by step advice on how to achieve proper alignment and links to more sites for further information.
Some interesting ideas considering different approaches to emphasis as it concerns design and expands on different concepts than chapter 2 in greater detail. Also provides great visual aides.
This website deals primarily with the concept of the visual hierarchy and goes into great detail how it is used to emphasize various aspects of a website or layout.
BoD Chapter 2: This page contains an outline of emphasis techniques to create visual hierarchy. It also includes links to more information on web design and links to templates for web publishing.
Chapter 4: A thorough explanation of balance in web design, with examples, including types of balance other than just symmetrical and asymmetrical; such as radial, etc.
Chapter 6, Repetition: An analysis of contrast, repetition, alignment, and proximity with examples of each in the form of website design. This shows how they all work in harmony and how they impact the design element of a website.
This is a copy of pages from a presentation that talks about the repitition element and other design elements that we have discussed in class. These pages are very informative and provides some good examples.
flow is simply the path a users eyes take through a design. This is primarily a result of how elements like emphasis and contrast are used. In fact, flow is entirely the result of how other elements are put together.
