This is a pretty good article. It is sad how they mentioned that chemicals which were banned in the U.S. and Europe for being toxic are now starting to be used in developing countries. It is sad to know that there are companies out there worried more about their pockets of "one"(the company) rather then the health and lives of thousnds of people.

  • Sustainable developments are those which fulfill present and future needs (WECD, 1987) while [only] using and not harming renewable resources and unique human-environmental systems of a site: [air], water, land, energy, and human ecology and/or those of other [off-site] sustainable systems (Rosenbaum 1993 and Vieria 1993).
  •
To be sustainabile one must meet present needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet needs. Sustainable means using methods, systems, and materials to harm natural cycles. Sustainabilty is very important.

American Wasteland, a book written by Jonathan Bloom talks about the statistics of the food waste in America. This artice in particular gives us the option to look into even more statistics of how severe the food waste in America has become today. These numbers keep gradually increasing sending our whole stability on Earth out of line. The more food we waste the more food we expect to grow. However the harsh conditions we expect Earth to withstand are apalling; Not only the soil but the atmophere are at risk of causing serious damages to the future of life as we know it

I really enjoyed reading this article because it ties in with food waste what we have been taking about. For an instance I thought they were the same back to going "green" it is good to learn the difference to comprehend both. This is also very helpful for those of us who would like to help but do not know how.
  •
To achieve a sustainable society then food waste must be recycled as opposed to being sent to landfill sites around the country. We all know the problems that our planet is suffering through global warming that is partly aided by the greenhouse gasses that are produced when food waste is sent to landfill and the ensuing fluctuations in temperature that is suffered around the globe.
  •
I really like your comment Norma i Read the same thing but saw it in a different light. But then after reading about your going green comment i thought about how ironic it is that color is being considered a sustainability method. It is great when you can see something from someone else point of view and get more from something you already agreed with.
