    Just as much we try hard to recycle paper, organizations are trying to do the same by helping food not being wasted. They are forming donations to food banks for the undernourished.

    Most foods are thrown away while still being fully edible because of cosmetic blemishes or overstocking. Food industry alliance are planning a 3 year initiative to reduce the tremendous amount of food waste. The environmental consequences are endless.

    The Grocery Manufacturers Association is conducting a plan to donate more food instead of throwing it away. They are being financed by the Food Marketing Institute to help with transportation and the restoration of food. They will begin by conducting surveys in regards to why the food is being thrown out in the first place then act on their findings.

    I really enjoyed reading this article because it ties in with food waste what we have been taking about. For an instance I thought they were the same back to going "green" it is good to learn the difference to comprehend both. This is also very helpful for those of us who would like to help but do not know how.

    To achieve a sustainable society then food waste must be recycled as opposed to being sent to landfill sites around the country. We all know the problems that our planet is suffering through global warming that is partly aided by the greenhouse gasses that are produced when food waste is sent to landfill and the ensuing fluctuations in temperature that is suffered around the globe.

    I really like your comment Norma i Read the same thing but saw it in a different light. But then after reading about your going green comment i thought about how ironic it is that color is being considered a sustainability method. It is great when you can see something from someone else point of view and get more from something you already agreed with.

    Like that it is talking about feeding animal the food that they normally would eat and they are grass feed making it more beneficial for the animal and the taste of what the animals are going to be used for better and more nutritious.

    This is an interesting article to learn what is behind our meat. It is great that they are actually fed what they normally would, and that they don't deprive them of that.
