There are misconceptions about csots and benefits. Research that had been done shoes that a lot of companies, large and small, have been reluctant to pursue environmental sustainability. Well a group of Students from Pomona's College started to try to save food from being tossed out. They would package it and send it to a shelter to help those in need. 3.7 million adults struggle to put food on the table, but 1.5 million tons of food get wasted and thrown away. Now there is something wrong with that. Donating food to the need has become a solution, but what if your willingness to help out gets turned down? One person turned donation food donations because the fear of rotten food and health code. How are we suppose to help food waste if others are squashing our solutions?

Good points are brought up about the main reason for hunger, being wasting food. the people that suffer most from hunger are children. The countries that waste the most are the rich ones like America.

But then after reading about your going green comment i thought about how ironic it is that color is being considered a sustainability method. It is great when you can see something from someone else point of view and get more from something you already agreed with.

To help reduce food waste you could recycle your spare food and make different food dishes. Another, thing you could do is save your leftovers in a container where they are visible that way you can see the edible food you have. Remember it is still safe to use food past their expiration and "use by" date these dates refer to quality not safety. Lastly, you should shop for items you know you will use soon instead of items you do not need that way they don't go to waste.
