Sister Margaret Farley has written a book on love, exploring different sexualities among people. She moves away from a "that's the way it has been always been taught" point of view to a progressive and accepting one that adapts to current knowledge, science and interpretation of theology. This is unlike any other perspective because it comes from the house of the strongest opponent to "deviant" sexual behaviors.

Many people are being criticize and discriminated because of their sexual orientation. There are many concerns and human rights violations expressed by the United Nations.

The National Coalition for Sexual Freedom is a national organization committed to creating a political, legal, and social environment in the United States that advances equal rights of consenting adults who practice forms of alternative sexual expression. NCSF is primarily focused on the rights of consenting adults in the SM-leather-fetish, swing, and polyamory communities, who often face discrimination because of their sexual expression.

Different states throughout the U.S. don't quite have a grasp on the definition of "rape." Certain actions on victims are being called minor sexual assaults and it doesn't seem to most of the U.S. that rape is taken seriously.

This is a great article pointing out the fact that if racism is in all races. People think because we are white we don't understand racism. This article summarizes different facts about gay rights. it shows percentages of how many teens that are picked on in school. told to leave home when they come out to their family that they are gay. in 1993 the dont as dont tell was put into effect for the military. gay men that have any sexual contact with another man are disqualified from donating blood. worried about HIV.

The gay community has a hard time defending their rights as it is, and in this article, they are still defending that it is not by choice to be gay. Many are in outrage when a woman changes from a marriage with a man to a life and engagement with a woman "by choice". Either by birth, or by choice sexuality preference will always be at debate and under scrutiny.

In the last 10 years, it has become more acceptable and easier to adopt if you're a single man or openly gay or lesbian. Before attitudes began changing, though, that group of citizens were generally only able to adopt if they hid their sexual identity. While there are still a couple of states where it's illegal for gays or lesbians to adopt, including Florida and Virginia, most state laws now reflect the shift in social attitude and recognize an equal ability to provide a good home regardless of sexual orientation.

Advocates believes it can best serve the field by boldly advocating for a more positive and realistic approach to adolescent sexual health. Advocates focuses its work on young people ages 14-25 in the U.S.

In California, protesters are fighting to repeal the nation's first law requiring public schools to include prominent gay people and gay rights' milestones in school lessons. Some fear that it would expose young children to "inappropriate" sexual themes, however modern 20th century history often isn't taught until junior year of high school. Proponents of the referendum explain that social studies education covers broad spectrum topics and that those who develop the curriculum would be unlikely to "include the sexual orientation of historical figures unless it is relevant."

There is a school that is teaching children as young a five years old about sexual matters. It is a "staged" program, meaning it is taught in stages. For instance, stage one would be for ages 5-7 years of age. Stage two would be from ages 8-11 and so on. What the article explained is that there is a level of education that is required to be taught. This was put in place by the national curriculum. There are certain subjects and areas our children have to be taught within the school system. Where does it say that this involves sexual intercourse? The children would start from age five learning about the body and life cycles and by age seven would be learning about intercourse. Many parents are outraged and looking for ways to meet this concerning issue head on. Parents are feeling that this type of teaching can lead their children to be faced with feelings they are not old enough to deal with responsibly. Other parents feel that school should be a pressure free place for their children.The bottom line is that schools have the right to decide what is taught within the nation curriculum's guidelines.It is up to parents to find out exactly what is being taught to their children and decide from there.

Here we hear about why sex education should be in all schools. It speaks about parents in denial of their children having sex, how early children are starting to be sexually active, to the concequenses of not being educated.

More and more employers are starting to make your personal Facebook information apart of the process in getting a job. The fact that there is personal information such as religion or sexual preferences may sway the employer to discriminate against a potential employee by making decisions based on the information. The question still lingers though, is this inquiry for your information legal?
