Gun control and gun rights has always been a very popular topic, specifically when it comes to elections. Recently there have been two court cases to reach the highest court in the US, one of which was considered to be a landmark case. However, neither case established what laws could be put in place without infringing upon our second amendment rights.

Friday's Supreme Court decision declaring gay marriage a constitutional right doesn't seem to have inspired much ambivalence among politically informed Americans. Either it's a glorious triumph for equality and an irrefutable demonstration that the arc of history does indeed bend toward justice - or else it's a galling example of judicial overreach, the end of public Christianity in America, and the start of an era that will be marked by unprecedented persecution of traditionalist Christians. The U.S. should not make the same mistake more then once by enforcing an amnesty policy. Instead, we should focus on increasing border protection and enhancing current immigration policies.

As much as i feel the constitution is outdated and is failing and we should create a new version of it using modern ways of living and looking at the world, the second amendment is something that should stay. This article points out quite a few reasons on why we should keep our guns. Some of the arguments are strong but the one about Jesus was a little ridiculous. The biggest argument I can think of is, if you take the guns away, the law abiding citizens will hand them in leaving the criminals with them still and leaving everyone unarmed.

The Second Amendment of the United States Constitution reads: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." Such language has created considerable debate regarding the Amendment's intended scope.

Between the 9/11 terrorists attacks and Edward Snowden's whistle blowing, American's have been debating over whether it is against our constitution to collect massive amounts of data on our citizens through internet uses and phone calls, or it our country's security is more important.

Years after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, and two years after Edward Snowden's revelations about extensive U.S. government surveillance of phone and internet data, Americans have mixed and conflicting views about government surveillance programs. On the one hand, a majority of Americans oppose the government collecting bulk data on its citizens, others believe there aren't enough limits on what types of data can be collected.

Terrorism certainly created more fear in the west and Americans wanted to feel more safe. Even if it means sacrificing some personal freedoms so that the government catches the crimes before they happen. Recently, it's been seen that it has gotten out of control more than anticipated.
