Eyeful of breast-feeding mom sparks outrage - 0 views

  •
This article talks about the negative response from a surprising number of readers of Babytalk Magazine when a 2006 magazine cover displayed part of a woman's breast and a baby nursing. While a number of readers were put off by the photo, another responded that she wants people to realize that a breast is more than just a sex object. It goes on to discuss celebrity support for public breast-feeding and how many retailers and restaurants who antagonize breast-feeding women have been subject to "nurse-ins." One of the best lines from the article is from a woman who refuses to feed in a public, questionably clean restroom stating, ""My kid needed to eat. I don't send people to the bathroom when THEY want to eat."

Tuition Rising: Why College Cost So Much - 0 views

  •
This website pretty much goes straight to the heart about where and why the cost of tuition is 2-3% higher than inflation. The other good reason I didn't realize is that univerisites are striving to be the best so they will spend more money which we end up paying for.

  •
This site easily identifies which states government have the most control over their citizen by a large margin. Ironicly New York, California, and Maryland are some of the most oppresive states. While New Hampshire, South Dakota, and Colorado rank among the most free.
  •
This article is about a recent study that indicates which states have more personal freedoms. The study was based on laws and how strict they were and the restrictions on the citizens of that state. It was conducted to see which states allow their citizens to leave the most personal, private, and free life possible.

Healthcare Reform and Personal Freedom - 0 views

  •
Right now we have a choice when it comes to medical care. But if certain healthcare reforms and laws pass this may change. If we have a choice between certain types of treatments, a "triage system" may decide our fate in the future.
  •
This article talks about our personal decision for healthcare coverage will not be possible with ObamaCare. For example your care will be based on "appropriate care" and not the best care possible for your situation.

Public Health and personal freedom - 1 views

  •
I will make a case for greater individual freedom in relation to health. Using examples drawn from psychiatry, I will demonstrate that Public Health often stands in the path of personal satisfaction, fulfillment and creativity; and will argue for greater freedom of access to medications.

This is the best website i have found regarding personal freedoms and how it relates to public health. It goes into great detail with multple points.

Best Ways to Build Healthy Food Habits - 0 views

  •
This article is about how grade children are picky eaters and how some will not have a problem with eating different healthy foods. Many children have their certain routine on flavors they like to taste which will be much more difficult for them to change their food habits. It should not make the parent or anyone else believe they will not be able to accomlish healthy habits for the child, the parent or whoever will need to be strict when wanting to change foods to healthier foods.

What are "Stand Your Ground" Laws? - 0 views

  •
The Stand Your Ground Laws provide the right to self protection in the event of emergencies. This set of laws provides security to individual citizens seeking protection for themselves and their loved ones;while providing an outlet to the would-be criminal persecution that ensues following a controversial arms related incident. The victim in question will be protected from criminal persecution under theses laws, and the perpetrator will be tried and treated as such. States lacking in these laws require citizens to be subject to deadly force and simply hope for the best when faced against criminal/ harmful actions on their own property.

In my mind the best chance for the American people to unite is to agree that both major political parties are responsible for the mess we are in. Yes, it is my belief that Barack Obama is a dangerous man.

NSA's Spying On Metadata Violates Our Freedom of Association - 2 views

  •
Is it important to us that our government looks at our Metadata? The government work's hard to Prove that our privacy is safe however they take liberties when it comes to private Phone Communications. The information they gather is much larger then we think.
  •
If they "need" to look at our metadata it makes me wonder what they're doing with all our information.
  •
In this day and age this is to be expected, the government is all about control, and when it comes to phone calls or even the internet they will do their best to control these places. Not siding with the government Im just stating their poor reasonings for doing this.

Alternative Education - 2 views

  •
Alternative education, also known as non-traditional education or educational alternative, describes a number of approaches to teaching and learning other than traditional publicly- or privately-run schools. These approaches can be applied to all students of all ages, from infancy to adulthood, and all levels of education.

Alternative education is very beneficial because people have different methods of learning but i dont think that they are being publicized enough for people to think about trying.
  •
I do think alternative learning is very important. Not everyone learns the same. But at the same time I don't really agree with homeschooling for a child's whole life. Yes homeschooling may be necessary sometimes but I am a strong believer of social interaction and think it is very important.
  •
I think it is really cool that they are coming up with multiple forms of education. It makes it so much easier to learn, and it takes some of the anxiety out of the learning process when you can find the best way that fits your learning needs.

A Case to Defund Planned Parenthood - 0 views

  •
Many people see planned parenthood as an organization that has been taking money from the government to fund abortions among many other issues. It's thought that this shouldn't be the case because there are so many other health care services in the states that provide the same services as well as many more services too. The break down of some of the expenses show why continuing to fund planned parenthood would not be the best solution for the tax payers money.

Don't defund Planned Parenthood (Opinion) - 1 views

  •
Since the choice to abort is one of the biggest reasons why people want to defund planned parenthood it is being looked at as more of a moral decision. The way democrats and republicans feel on this topic is completely different therefore has been making it harder to make the decision on it. Defunding planned parenthood for this reason would basically be taking away a women's right to choose.
  •
I agree with your statement. It should ultimately be a women's choice and not let politicians decide a woman's decision. Everyone has a right to decide what is best for them without controversies and looking down at.
