I love books and reading and I'm always trying to find ways to keep track of my own library and access others.

David Golumbia provides a voice to counter the hype of the sharing economy. My favorite quote, "Sharing" can be seen as a form of resistance to the capitalist economy. But the "sharing economy" becomes a way of capitalizing on that resistance" (par 13)

Sorry this interview is rather long, but I posted it because Faulkner talks about his books/stories being made into movies and how he feels about it. This is another example that makes me think it would be good for both classes, EMAC6300 and DigitalText.

I kind of feel like this goes for both the EMAC6300 class and our Digital Text class. It makes me think of McLuhan's the Media is the Message using machine to make text and how we can use text (like poetry or a story) in a new way. Interesting!

Texting can make you drive like a drunk. Now a new study shows that texting can also make you walk like a robot. Researchers found that healthy people who read or send texts while hoofing it show subtle but potentially hazardous changes to their gait.

It seems silly, but I wager that had she been distracted by looking through her bag or some other reason, we would be more sympathetic. My guess would be that the reason of the distraction didn't make the city any less negligent.

Here's an app that allows people to view their path ahead while on their phones. It activates your camera and allows you too see both your screen and the ground. The iPhone version only lets you text and tweet while the android app works for any app in universal mode. Interesting. Before I got my current job, I was attempting to find one in social media. The idea of giving myself a social media title hadn't even occurred to me. Either I didn't do enough research or I accidentally avoided a digital faux pas. Either way, I already knew that it's what details and experience you can offer that represent your social media guru-ness... And not what silly title you can invent. Side note, that photo they used isn't from Halloween, it's from an anime or comic convention! I know because I'm a dork and I attend them regularly. (:
