What will be the future of eLearning for Higher Education? - 0 views

  •
I am preparing a presentation on the future of e-learning for HE education. Any suggestions on best technologies? What do you think will be here in 5 years and has a good pedagogical basis? David Goodman said: What does the future learning technologies look like for the northerm hemisphere vs the southern? West vs East? rich vs poor? A polticial question - does everyone wish that others have an improved learning experience? Education is an economic, job unemployment, citizen compliance, conformance, etc. issue. Having left my soapbox of babble - I would like to see a visual, immersive board that is haptic and responsive to my learning whims. My learning world will change as I touch a topic, reference, picture, sound, etc - that may all be related or not.I would like to become a hologram sitting in a virtual environment listening and seeing Homer with discussions going on with many others who debate him on his philosophy as it pertains to us today. Dreaming is OK with me.

Video Application: The New-Age Cover Letter | Pinhopes - 0 views

  •
A cover letter gives you a chance to make a case for yourself, and cover everything you cannot express in your resume. It affords you an opportunity to come across as real people and explain your suitability for the desired position, to potential employers. Companies often look for thoughtfully written cover letters, as a method of screening applicants who lack the necessary skills or interest for the said position. Cover letter can thus form into a marketing vehicle for any prospective job seeker.

How To Enhance Virtual Learning With The Help Of Social Learning - Tesseract Learning - 0 views

  •
A virtual learning environment is a medium of learning where learners go through courses, study materials and learning aids through an online medium. It can be browser-based or a virtual training session through Zoom. Virtual learning offers activities, interactions, and resources within a course structure and provides different levels of assessment. Given this context, learners can access learning materials through peer-to-peer collaboration networks such as forums. As social learning is a continuous process of learning from other people within and outside the organization, it can be integrated into virtual learning through various means.

In 70:20:10 for trainers I advocated the use of the 70:20:10 model by L&D professionals as a lens through which to view their instructional design. The excellent comments on my post, and insightful blog posts by others - notably Mark Britz, Clark Quinn and Arun Pradhan - have prompted me to think deeper about my premise.

Simulations for Fun and Profit - 0 views

  •
Simulations for Fun and Profit by David A. Mallette, Instructional Systems Technologist NOTE: The video and simulation both require Flash and adequate bandwidth. As mentioned here, we have discontinued web distribution of our training in favor of local launch, server authenticated systems of our own design due to bandwidth and latency issues on the Internet that are not likely to be resolved for a long time. The video is compressed enough for 500kpbs or so throughput and the simulation will run in less. By the mid 90s, simulation was the place to be for those on the cutting edge of technical training. A variety of raster-based, multi-tasking computer platforms were available that could provide real-time, free-play simulations of complex machines. Whoops. I've probably lost a bunch of you right there at "raster." I'll explain.

E-learning in Italy needs to run - 0 views

E-learning in Italy needs to run... Which phase is e-learning experiencing? Wait. In Italy or in the World? Well, not exactly the same thing. However, we can evaluate both cases. We could start from the rest of the world, and then see where we're in common and where we step into the Stone Age. Or worse. The great nineteenth century philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer said that "All truth passes through three stages. First is ridiculed. Then meets a violent opposition. Finally, it is accepted as obvious." Arthur Schopenhauer Which phase is e-learning experiencing? Wait. In Italy or in the World? Well, not exactly the same thing. However, we can evaluate both cases.
