I have annotated this quite heavily as very interesting.

This is my personal dumping ground for various cool quotes, the odd stat, as slides to talk around when describing how things are changing online and in media & communications generally. They're in no particular order. I create them as much for fun as anything as I'm fascinated by this whole field. If you hover your mouse over the set pics it'll bring up the name of the file, so you can see what it's about without having to click into it. When I add new slides they go to the start to make them easier to spot.

BlogTalkRadio is the social radio network that allows users to connect quickly and directly with their audience. Using an ordinary telephone and computer hosts can create free, live, call-in talk shows with unlimited participants that are automatically archived and made available as podcasts. No software download is required. Listeners can subscribe to shows via RSS into iTunes and other feed readers. A small change to the way you refer to your webinar audience that can have a significant impact on their experience. Instead of "Hello, everybody. I'm glad you all could come" you say "Hello. I'm glad you could come."

This is an easy to use site for sharing music and podcast audio files and talk about them. The group can upload your files together. Share a link to invite into the room. Over the past two years, corporations have been developing and implementing Virtual Reality training solutions. In this article, I will be talking about how we implemented Virtual Reality in corporate training.

We send our students many messages about learning, growth, ability, potential. . . Sometimes we are sending these messages deliberately, such as when we talk about growth mindset and the rewards of effort, persistence and risk taking. At other times the messages we send are accidental, incidental and unplanned; these are often the strongest messages we send. 

Impact of informal speech and MSN talk on formal writing in teenagers.

Despite this being a 'thinking' conference, despite us all being advocates for structured and scaffolded models of thinking, not one group had applied any thinking routines, utilised a collaborative planning protocol or talked about applying an inquiry model or design thinking cycle. It wasn't that we didn't know about them. It wasn't that we don't know how to use them. It wasn't that we don't value them. We had all the knowledge we could desire on the how to and the why of a broad set of thinking tools and anyone of these would have enhanced the process, but we did not use any of them. Why was this the case and what does this reveal about our teaching of these methods to our students?

I have just had the opportunity to spend the weekend learning alongside a large group of mathematics teachers. After a day and a half of talking and thinking about mathematics teaching, I am excited to get back to school and try out some new ideas. There were also some key takeaways for me that I share below. These are the questions or wonderings that my mind wandered to while listening to the numerous talented speakers over the past two days.
