OpenEd - 6 views

While most teachers will not understand what this means, an API is something that lets other websites interact with a main website. OpenEd has released an API to allow others to interact with their websitess and find things based on standards or keywords. What this means is that OpenEd is going to be a very useful tool for all of education in the future because of this technological tool. It also means that if you're developing for a state or for an organization that provides educational websitess, you should tap into this for a huge repository of almost a quarter of a million standards aligned websitess that your teachers can search. This is great news.

The Keyword Blog: Check the Facts! Cross Check the Facts! Lessons & Media - 6 views

  • Check the Facts! Cross Check the Facts! Lessons & Media Fact checking is essential in a (mis) information rich environment.
  • Brilliant resource from the Annenberg Public Policy Center
  • FactChecked.org Luckily, FactCheck.org also has a highly developed classroom section that provides in-depth lesson plans and media links. These are highly polished materials for educators seeking a way to teach critical thinking and evaluation skills to their students. The Lesson Plan Archive ( http://www.factchecked.org/LessonPlans.aspx ) will intrigue any educator looking for a way to engage students. These plans are edgy and up to date. If you've been looking for a way to teach thinking and evaluation of media.

Projectqted is a new presentation builder that has won many awards including SXSWi as 2012 Best Educational resource. It is a new tool that you should try if you're using online presentations and compare to prezi. ""Projeqt lets you create what you could call interactive slideshows... I might describe it as a more sophisticated Prezi that's easier to create and less confusing to watch." -Larry Ferlazzo's resource of the day"

Many tools exist which help us in sidestepping prickly copyright issues. The professional ones are of course potent, spiffy and dollar loving. The free ones may not be too much on looks but without a pinch they are adequate for the blogger world. Here at MakeUseOf, we have previously covered quite a few content tracking web services.
