#Education Tackkboard - Tackk - 8 views

  •
Tackk is a quick, simple way to create a page (without really having a website.) This page links to all of the tackk's relating to education. This is a cool, unique idea and I haven't seen anything quite like it. Sort of pinterest/ glogster mixed together. Cool. Writing teachers or anyone who has students do quick projects might be interested in this.

Docs Voice Comments - YouTube - 9 views

  •
Jen Roberts gives tips on how to add voice comments to Google Docs. If you're writing in Google Docs, this is a great technique as voice always gives you a closer connection, particularly for struggling readers. They can also hear your voice and know the intent of your words.

Qwiki - 10 views

  •
Qwiki's goal is to forever improve the way people experience information. Whether you're planning a vacation on the web, evaluating restaurants on your phone, or helping with homework in front of the family Google TV, Qwiki is working to deliver information in a format that's quintessentially human - via storytelling instead of search. We are the first to turn information into an experience. We believe that just because data is stored by machines doesn't mean it should be presented as a machine-readable list. Let's try harder.

Goodreads | Educator Book Club - 0 views

OK, I've been toying around with Goodreads, a website that so many librarians have recommended to me. Thus far it looks a bit like blippr although perhaps easier to use. Enjoying it so far. This particular group seems to be for educators.

yWriter is a free, highly rated, novel writing program that I found through a very complimentary review in PC Magazine. It is for the PC. Just save your file as an RTF with chapter headings and it will import right into ywriter.

The online word processor from Adobe. This is one to watch because of testing and future compatibility with Adobe Air, a "plugin" that will let you take things offline and be online, although the word processor runs in a web browser. We are much closer to this environment.
