Coursmos - 6 views

    Create micro-courses or find them and learn from them. This is the web app for Coursmos but there are also apps for your phone, etc. This might be an interesting thing to do with students to have them create demos, etc. about how to do tasks. Very interesting.

Connect your classic printers with Google Cloud Print - Google Cloud Print Help - 12 views

  •
    You can use your Google account to link the printers on your PC with your Google account using Google Cloud print. This incredibly useful feature can let you go to work on Monday and when you fire up your computer, it will printout the things you want to have printed. (If it works) this is a very cool feature. I'm enabling this today.

    Here are some lesson plans using Mouse Mischief. In particular I think the Angles lesson plan would be interesting for math teachers but there is also one on apostrophes, colors (for ESL students) and a science one on carnivores, omnivores and herbivores.

Project SIKULI - 6 views

  •
    I don't really understand all about this project out of MIT but want to learn more about it. Thi s is what they say on their site: "ikuli is a visual technology to search and automate graphical user interfaces (GUI) using images (screenshots). The first release of Sikuli contains Sikuli Script, a visual scripting API for Jython, and Sikuli IDE, an integrated development environment for writing visual scripts with screenshots easily. Sikuli Script automates anything you see on the screen without internal API's support. You can programmatically control a web page, a desktop application running on Windows/Linux/Mac OS X, or even an iphone application running in an emulator. "

TLC = Tech + Library + Classroom: Wallwisher - 17 views

  •
    Great overview from Tara about how she uses wallwisher. I haven't played with this new, cool tool but will. She says: "One of my favorite new tools that I shared with the group was Wallwisher. It's the whole 'get a sticky note, write your thoughts and stick it to the chart paper' activity but online. Brilliant! It's free, and I can keep the information archived each time I build a new wall. "

Microsoft exposes Firefox users to drive-by malware downloads | Zero Day | ZDNet.com - 6 views

  •
    Looks like the problems many of us have been having in Firefox (last week in particular) may actually be from Microsoft? Come on !! I love firefox and don't have my students use IE for this reason (slowness, lack of ad ons, viruses, malware.) The only time I'm using Chrome now is for special webapps (Toodledo) and also Google Wave (it seems to consume any other web browser.) This ZDNET article is a follow through from Stephen Downes' amazing resource sharing blog - if you haven't subscribed, you should.

GissiSim.com | One Firefox plugin to end them all - 0 views

  •
    An article about a new Firefox plug in called Ubiquity that is supposed to be particularly useful for people who have to translate quite a bit, but also adds custom programmability to ubiquity and your firefox web browser that allow you to close individual URLs, generate tiny urls, and all sorts of other things. WE'll see if this is the firefox plug in to end them all but I'll let you know. Meanwhile, if any of you have tested it, I'd love to hear from you.
