NETS - T 2008 # 1 Facilitate and Inspire Student Learning and Creativity

Teachers use their knowledge of subject matter, teaching and learning, and technology to facilitate experiences that advance student learning, creativity, and innovation in both face-to-face and virtual environments. Teachers:
    c. promote student reflection using collaborative tools to reveal and clarify students' conceptual understanding and thinking, planning, and creative processes.
    d. model collaborative knowledge construction by engaging in learning with students, colleagues, and others in face-to-face and virtual environments.

In addition to being a silly social group blah-blah vehicle, MySpace offers forums, connections to special interest groups, video clips, and blogs sharing all sorts of information.

In combination with data authentication tools including the likes of Snopes.com and Wikipedia, I think this networking site offers value to educators working to connect with 21C learners.

The creative and innovative resources accessed via myspace.com is huge. Turning this networking application into a learning tool is where educators need to focus.
